secondary received, IS
Date, if you click the box a calendar should pop up.6.) What is your most recent MCAT taken?
Is this asking for the date or the score?
From what I have been told it is easier to apply for MS or PHD after you get in the regular MD program since the screening process for those programs is a little more strict.Does anyone know about the MD/MS degree? Im interested in doing it for Bioengineering or Clinical Research. If you apply to the MD/MS and don't get in do they still consider you for the MD, or do you just change over to the MS/MD when you get in?
Secondary received and submitted today! 🙂 Used essays I had for other schools that addressed the questions.

Did your letters process right away? I got six already in at AMCAS, but not processed according to the status page.
I'm the same. I may try to think of a specific event and write about that instead...? But then it wouldn't be a brief overview! So I'm coming across a little bit of a problem. The two experiences that I would want to write about (for clinical experience and community service) are the ones I chose as my most meaningful experiences in the AMCAS app. I feel like at this point I've already written too much about them, but I'm not sure what other experiences to write about![]()

one of marylands questions is about if we met with a school advisor...if one of the admission officers came to my school and spoke to us does that count?
what do they want me to write about this experience?
thanks for al your help!
verified july 18. no secondary yet,
should i worry/call?
Does anyone know if the in state classification form needs to be received before them making a decision on II? I looked at my status and it is "currently under review." My HPEC committee sent the letters on tuesday but UMB hasn't marked them as received on the online portal.
I also work for UMB so I want to make any ties I have to them pretty apparent.
Might be a silly question, but what exactly are they looking for with the photo upload? Professional headshot? This is the first school I've seen request a photo. Thanks!
Typically most schools are looking for experience with patients directly when they say clinical. If this is the closest you have been to patients IMO i would go with it. Better to write that than to just say I don't have any clinical experience, you know? Can a clinical experience mean lab work?
I have plenty of patient experience but wanted to use it for the community service section. I ended up just explaining one particularly meaningful day of volunteering.Typically most schools are looking for experience with patients directly when they say clinical. Does the residency form have to be submitted for my application to be considered in-state or is this solely for financial purposes?
+1 .... about had a heart attack when I saw something in my inbox!Received secondary app received e-mail
It's for financial purposes.
That's right. So if we are OOS, is it safe to say we don't have to bother sending the in state classification form?
No, it's for tuition purposes in-state only. Just ignore it if you're OOS.So they'll review my app even if I don't submit the in-state form yet right? Like it won't be held up because they're waiting for it? Just making sure... Don't want to mess this one up

Nope - it matters for admitted students only.I'm in-state. Does that mean I should send it in ASAP?

Awesome. Goood to know, thanks!
I just got an email from admissions that "they have received my second stage application". Submitted mid-July.
You know, I just got a complete email from UMD, and this was in it too:
"Please mail your In-State Classification form to the Office of Admissions, HSF I, 685 W. Baltimore Street, Suite 190 , Baltimore , MD 21201 . In-State Classification forms will be forwarded to the Office of Records and Registration. If you have questions regarding Maryland residency, contact the Office of Records and Registration at 410-706-7480. The In-State Classification form can be found on the secondary application website and under FAQs on the Admissions website. Please include your AAMCID# somewhere in the top right corner of the form."
Looks like they want it now, although this is for tuition purposes, and is therefore for admitted students. 😵
Yeah I saw that but I was just making sure that the week or so it'll take to get to them won't hold up their review of my application. I was gonna submit asap anyway.
Not a chance. Just send it in and forget about it.
When do II usually come out from UMD?
