Yep, just got it, was verified early July. Checking the status of my app I get:
Your primary application from AMCAS has been received. It is being evaluated and you will be sent an e-mail notification of your status within 1-2 weeks.
I got the same thing. Damn, I was really hoping for the secondary… but at least now I know my application didn't get lost. I was starting to wonder.

I'm wondering if LORs have to be added to your AMCAS app before they will send the application received email? I was verified 6/26, but my committee letter took some time and was just added yesterday. Got the complete email today, not sure if coincidence or not, just a theory!

You're probably right. My school said letters weren't expected until late August so I'm side eying them the most right now... ughhh I just want II's and secondaries!!! D:
I'm just getting the aforementioned email today, and I sent in my verified primary to them 15 days ago.
It's two of the three essays right? The competency one us definitely the one I'm leaving out.
They just "received" my application which I sent on 7/3.
I also got the email saying that they received my app. Still no secondary though. Is this a bad sign?

Secondary received. OOS.
I've really been struggling with similar essays on the same secondary. Starting to feel like I don't have very many interesting aspects or experiences that set me apart from others. Kinda thought the unique challenges and obstacles I've overcome are what has made me diverse, so I'm unsure of how to go about answering both of these essays...
-- it's not the obstacles or experiences you have that set you apart, it's what you've learned from them and how they've made you grow. that's who you are and that's what they want to see.
I got a secondary yesterday!! I was very surprised. Stats are:
-3.75 GPA
-3.53 BCPM
-26 MCAT
I think maybe the fact that I have a pending publication maybe had something to do with it? Tons of research and shadow and volunteer experience. I'm not sure? I was very surprised though. OOS and expected to immediately be rejected.

I received that email Thursday and haven't gotten a secondary either. From earlier posts it looks like it takes 3 to 4 business days after the application received email to get a secondary.
Don't worry about it; their application readers will probably thank you. It says "400 words or less."
In other news, I FINALLY got the secondary today! Submitted. 🙂

Same here, it has been a few days.
Applying here OOS. 3.5 cGPA 3.33 sGPA, 30 (11/9/10) MCAT. Great LOR's/EC's. I hope I have a chance.

I know, I'm sorry. He was my favorite TV character ever, and I feel like he is exactly the type of guy I will become as a doctor.
In the third required essay it states " Do not duplicate information provided elsewhere in the secondary application or in your AMCAS personal statement". I mentioned in my personal statement that I was an engineering major and briefly mentioned an internship and I was wondering if using my engineering background to answer that question would be duplicating information?
You know you only have to do two, right?
Yea, but I think my answer to that question is much stronger than why I would bring diversity to the class.
Yeah man, I talked about being a Physics major for that question and I think it came out well. I say go for it, as long as you're talking about details that really haven't come to light anywhere else in your application.
I also applied here! Looks like we might be bumping into each other on the interview trial...
And btw, did anyone answer all 3 of the required questions? It says we need to answer at least 2, so I answered all 3 since I felt I had good answers for all of them.

I did all three because, like you, I felt like I had good answers for all three.
Granted, it was mostly copying/pasting responses from other secondary prompts. But I feel most of us do that!
What!??? You don't use completely original material for each secondary prompt???? 🙂

By complete do you mean after submitting secondary? I sent my secondary two weeks ago and still no complete email. Does anyone know if there is a status check website?
