Anyone applying to the premed post bacc masters program??
 
Good news is that Wake Forest will be sending out interview invites through the first week of march. Does Wake Forest reject continuously throughout the cycle or do they wait until the last possible day? I apologize if this was discussed earlier in the thread. Hopefully the lights in the bar will gradually get dimmer in the next few days...and the drinks will be on the house!
 
I was rejected pre interview so I believe it's continuous? 🙂 good luck!
 
are they sending rejections via e-mail, or are people finding this out just by checking the portal?

Congrats! Did you receive a confirmation email for your date? I know they said we'd get a email in a few days but just wanted to see if anyone received anything.
 
11/11 is when I got my complete email. It was a late submission 🙁

That is good news, Wake was my top choice going into this cycle and so It's been disappointing not to have heard anything from them. They are the last school I'm really holding out for an invite from. I got accepted at a different school and this is the only school I'd still go to the interview for. So we will see how it goes.
 
How are people who live within flying distance planning on getting to second look? Greensboro or Charlotte? Renting a car? Ideas?

I have not received a confirmation email yet. They said to be on the lookout for one this coming week if I remember correctly.
 
Anyone know what the turn around time on decisions is, post interview? IIRC today is supposed to be the day that the Feb 2 interviewees hear back, so obviously I'm freaking out.
 
They meet every two weeks or something. On my interview day, the told us exactly what day they met for our day and I heard back that morning.

I heard back on the day they told me around 5 pm EST.

awesome!! im still holding out some hope. not much but i know wake is where i want/ and am supposed to be. Wish I had the interview to show them that!
 
Does anybody know whether they waitlist all interviewees or whether they do reject some? I interviewed in October and was waitlisted. I know that Wake takes a considerable number of students off the waitlist, but if the waitlist is hundreds of applicants long then just being on the list wouldn't necessarily be promising.

Here's my take:

2013-2014's numbers, as reported here: https://www.facebook.com/wakeforestsm

8,091 applicants
541 interviewed
238 acceptances
Final class of 120 matriculated 8/4/2014.

No information was given about how many students were waitlisted, but if you assume that they don't over-accept (which isn't necessarily a safe assumption), then you're looking at 541 interviews - 120 matriculated students = 421 interviewed students who don't matriculate. Of those 421 students, (238-120=) 118 students were accepted but didn't matriculate. I'm not sure whether anyone gets rejected post-interview, but if you assume that ALL of those 421 students were waitlisted, apparently a waitlist had a 118/421 = 28% chance of turning into an acceptance last year. If post-interview rejections do happen, that percentage can only get better.

There are a ton of assumptions in what I just wrote, obviously, but I think the numbers are pretty encouraging. Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear!

Thanks! I actually wasn't complete until December 11th because I was on hold from when I submitted my primary in July until I received my new MCAT scores late November.

I called yesterday and was told that decisions for those still in the pre-interview phase will be coming out tomorrow 03/06/2015.
 
eeeek. well i just called and they said that all final interview slots have been filled but they are hanging onto a 'select group' that they can contact in case anyone cancels.

So, I guess the bar has closed but we're the group still lingering around on the street?
