I'm a Maryland resident with no ties to WV but I was interviewed and put on wait list this past application cycle. I would suggest calling Dr. Hazard before sending additional compelling information. Ask her if she can tell you why you got rejected and how you can improve your application. I spoke to her earlier on in the year about my application and she was pretty open. I would say that your stats definitely meet their minimum so something else about your primary application (PS or work/activities) must need more work. Letters are unlikely to have played a role since many of us haven't even sent in letters yet and schools typically wait for the secondary application to read them.

How long after you sent your secondary did you receive an interview?

I contacted the admission office before I saw your post, and I was given the same information. They want the banner application emailed to them.
 
Just curious, does anyone know what the banner information even is? Haha I guess it doesn't matter anyway

Are you serious? Well, I already sent the snail mail lol. Might as well do both.

I also emailed and received the same response. The change has been made on the "Banner Application" section of the secondary as well.

I submitted the secondary on 7/6/14, and I did not receive a complete email. The interview invite arrived via email, and they included a link to schedule the interview online. I picked the first date, which was September 4th.

I don't think they really send out complete emails? At least I never got one.. I sent in all my stuff on 7/9 so they have a pretty dang quick turn around it looks like! After sending it in, the next thing I heard from them was an interview email.
 
Congrats to everyone who received interview invites! I also got one and scheduled myself in the last available spot for Friday 9/5/2014. I'm so excited right now, and I can't wait to meet some of you!

Stats: cGPA/sGPA/MCAT = 3.73/3.78/36
Undergrad: WUSTL
No ties to WV
EC's include hosptial volunteering, shadowing, and lots of community service with APO
EDIT: I also currently work as an ER scribe approx. 40 hrs/wk.

How quickly did you guys get secondaries/rejections after sending your primary? Mine was verified on 7/8 so it's only been 6 days, but I just wanted to see what their turn-around time was.

Whenever the adcoms get to your application lol. I was verified 6/5, and I didn't receive every secondary on the first day schools could send them out.

lol I know that, just wanted to see how long it was taking them. Some schools have short turn-around and others really long. I wasn't anxious about it or anything, just curious lol

From what I remember, WVU is pretty quick. I think they meet on Tuesdays so you may hear something late tomorrow or Wednesday.

Also, my stats are on the lower end of applicants OOS (3.5 cGPA 3.2sGPA, first MCAT 25, retaking in september). I have about 100+ hours of volunteer work at an outpatient pharmacy in a hospital (and growing), 50+ hours of volunteer work at my parish, 8 hours of volunteer work for Alliance of the Great Lakes, and 5 hours of shadowing an ophthalmologist (the dr. really liked me and seems to be offering me a technician job this week).

On the whole what do some of you think about my application at face value?

I would try to turn in AMCAS before August, because it can take awhile to get verified. I'm not much higher than you with an MCAT of 27 but believe it or not a couple points can make a difference. I've seen ppl get in with low stats, even still you have to know its more difficult with scores on the lower end. Your ECs seem fine, although only 5 hours of shadowing is very low compared to most applicants. I would increase those hours too.

Haha, I would say that you shouldn't stress too hard about it. Last year, it was about a month until I got the II after submitting my secondary.
 
Still waiting for the secondary. I am impressed at how early they send out interview invites and reject people. No one wants to wait around in limbo. Very cool admissions IMO
 
How strict do you think they are about the 2 week deadline? I received the secondary on the 5th and submitted on the 18th at 11:55 pm. Is that considered within two weeks lol?
 
I also received mine on the 5th, but I plan on submitting mine today (considering the deadline day as inclusive). @immolard , you should be fine. Can anyone else confirm the end point for the two week deadline? Thanks!
 
I also submitted today (received 5th as well), I think that they would include today as well. I submitted everything online and then sent them an email as well with all of that info. They sent back an auto reply saying they received all of my info, so hope all goes well! Does anyone know if they discriminate people based on how late you turn in your secondary though?

Trying to submit now. On the secondary application page, I keep getting this message "The entered values cannot be saved. Please see the fields below for details." Did you guys get an email after you successfully completed the first section "secondary application". I have been able to submit every section and receive confirmation via except for the first one you're supposed to do =/. I got 56 minutes until the deadline.

Please help some!

Unfortunately, I think that might mean you are closed out. 🙁

It might be that you have to enter in information in a different order though. I entered in essays first then banner, then secondary app, and then signature and payment. That just made sense to me. The biggest thing is if they send you an email saying they received your information.

So there has to be a bug with their application... I finally was able to submit the application as of 11:54 =)! But there is an issue...

So for the past two hours I have literally tried to submit on three different computers. I have used every single browser possible from Internet Explorer to Chrome. I reset my computers, reset my router, I did everything. I was getting desperate so I began messing with the fields on the application. On the application it asks "have you applied to WV before," "If so when". I am a re-applicant so I answered yes and said 2013-2014 for the when. On the try that worked, I answered no I am not a re-applicant, removed my answer from the "when:" text box and sure enough it finally submits...

So good news I have submitted the entire application before the deadline! But now it isn't accurate =/

You can always send them email or call them to explain what happened. Good luck btw!
 
Hey guys sorry for another question but regarding the banner application, did you guys physically email something to them? I just clicked submit on the website and received an email confirming I had submitted...
 
Did all of you guys that got interview invites have your letters in all already? I just submitted the secondary but my letters won't be in until maybe the end of this week, is there a chance I hear from them without my letters being in?

Sent via email. Didn't get no confirmation email.

EDIT: WVU has changed the method of submission for the banner app to electronic.

Dang. Submitted my secondary on 7/19 and got my II today on 7/21 even though my prehealth adviser hasn't finished writing my new committee letter. I guess they remember me from last year so that's a great way to start the week!

Within 2 days? I submitted on 7/13 and still nothing over here 🙁
