Has anyone that got this message that didn't interview

"Thank you for your interest in Drexel University College of Medicine. A decision has been reached on your application and a letter mailed to your preferred address "

get a letter mailed to them? If so, what was it? Pre-interview reject? Or Hold or something? I still haven't gotten my letter :/

Complete since end July. No II yet. Instead got this on the portal a few days ago "The Admissions Committee has reached a decision on your application. A letter will be mailed to your preferred address." what does this mean?

I got this also and I got the letter in the mail today... It is a rejection. I'm willing to bet if you have this pre-II then you'll be getting a rejection also, sorry

Ugh! I can't believe they're sending out pre-interview rejections via snail mail. Drexel, you make no sense! Sorry, guys. I'm sure I'll be getting one any day now...

Still sitting at "no decision" but I'm awaiting their weird snail-mail rejection as well. Seems like a waste of paper and postage on applicants you're not considering :sorry:

I am sure this has been discussed, but with numerous interview dates coming soon I was hoping some of you could talk a bit about your interview day at Drexel. Appreciate any and all feedback ahead of time, and congrats to all of those who have recently been accepted!

It's a very relaxed and casual day! An opening remarks presentation in the beginning discussing the school and curriculum, one 30 minute-ish interview, a quick essay (don't worry it wasn't a hard topic!), you get to sit in on a class and gross anatomy lab, lunch in the cafe with current students, then a tour led by students, then you're free! the whole day was over by 2pm IIRC. good luck! I'm sure you'll do great!

Haven't recieved anything from the school in a while. hope it changes soon! If I am OOS and have been complete since August, is there any chance for me still?

No interview yet! 31 and 3.9 and been complete since early August! Should I be worried?

Did people's portals change from "is and complete" to "No decision" or was it the other way around? I'm stuck at "is and complete". I'm a grammar freak and it's bothering me a ton...but better than a rejection!

Accepted students, about how long after your interview did your portal change?

How helpful is Drexel's admissions office? I'm getting more and more alarmed that I still have "no decision" after being complete for 14 weeks. I don't want to bother them with calling, only to have them give me a canned answer like "please continue checking the portal for updates" :eyebrow:. Anyone called before to ask about their application status?

any advice on interviewing at drexel? open or closed?
Open! You have one 30 minute interview with a faculty member that could also be on the admissions committee. From what it looked like, it seemed that my interviewer had a printout of my entire AMCAS application and asked me specific questions related to my experiences, grades, and MCAT score. My advice would be to know your application front to back and be prepared for all types of questions even though that really depends on who interviews you. Good luck!

I called a few weeks ago and was pretty much told exactly that.

for accepted students, what were your stats?
Accepted students, about how long after your interview did your portal change?

3.5/30, in state.

My portal changed 2-2.5 weeks after my interview. I got the call 3 weeks after my interview, and my acceptance stuff came in the mail the day after I got my call.

Just got the call!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 Interviewed 11/5 status changed about 2.5 weeks later and go the call a week after that. Thank everyone for all the insight throughout this process!
Congrats! Interviewed the same day and I'm still at no decision 🙁 does this just mean my file hasn't been presented to the committee yet?

Probably. I think my interviewer just got my materials together and presented to the committee fairly quickly. My status changed to "a member of the admissions committee is reviewing your application" about two weeks after my interview and then it went to the committee about two days after that. I think it just depends on your interviewers schedule and how quickly they are able to move through applications. Hang in there!!

Haha sorry one more question..any chance you remember when you status changed to "a decision has been made"/how long it took to receive the letter? THANKS!!
I never checked the portal sorry. but I see you were accepted!!! Congrats!

to accepted students: do we have to do anything besides send the check right now?

Congrats!! Letter or phone call?

I got a letter and a phone call on the same day.

As for others asking, it took Drexel 7 weeks to make my decision (I had the "application is being looked at by a committee member" for several weeks) and another week to get that decision via mail.

For those who have had an interview and a status change or no status change: On the portal before you click on "to view your decision click here" there is a large table with a lot of information. Does anyone else see Major and Department and then Major Concentration? Can't remember if these have always been there.
