grrr me either!
Same here.
grrr me either!
Same! I'm way too scared to put filler stuff though, so I'm just going to work on this bad boy first. For those selecting MD/MPH or MD/MA, do you know if you can put something in the extra essay box as filler and go back and change it later? I want to spend some quality time with the "Please describe your interest in public health and how you wish to combine this interest with a career in medicine (500 words or less)" question but still be able to see the rest of the application.
I think you can probably submit additional, but it seems as if they wouldn't appreciate it very much. I would limit myself to 4.Is the max # of LoRs really only 3?
I'm taking it as the formerI think you can probably submit additional, but it seems as if they wouldn't appreciate it very much. I would limit myself to 4.
For the health related experiences, does that include things like medically related research and health education? Or just clinical experience as defined on SDN?
this would only be for clinical, not bench research right?I'm taking it as the former
Depends if your research has clinical/ health implications I would say. Bench research, but on disease processes... I would probably count that. Unrelated ecology research on lizard habitats or something like that... more of a stretch.this would only be for clinical, not bench research right?

my research has health implications, I'll probably include it then! still haven't gotten this secondary though 🙁
@Dr. Retractor did you get yours?
they don't pre screen though, I don't think that has anything to do with itNah. My LizzyM is on the lower side, so that may be why.
At this point, I'm also behind, with a goal of getting one out a day. The more the med schools procastinate getting to me, the happier I am!!http://www.med.emory.edu/education/admissions/md/faq.html#Applying_to_Emory8 says up here that they screen out anyone with under a 27 (or 500 on the new scale), or with any subscore under a 7 (or 123)
I haven't gotten a supplemental either and my score is fine. Honestly its probably a good thing, I'm already slightly behind on my essays anyway

I got a secondary today. 🙂
Ugh, another one in my inbox. If I don't open the email, does the 2 week clock not start?? I prewrote some, but not this one.At this point, I'm also behind, with a goal of getting one out a day. The more the med schools procastinate getting to me, the happier I am!!
Means they will do with it as they please!! I have 2 scores, hopefully they will take the most recent, and see that the old one I took 2 years ago, and discount it.Got a secondary today too! Do you guys know how Emory views multiple MCATs, by chance?
EDIT: Nvm, found it on their website. They say "Each score will be assessed separately." Not sure what that really means...
The Emory ones are pretty short, I wouldn't sweat it too much!Ugh, another one in my inbox. If I don't open the email, does the 2 week clock not start?? I prewrote some, but not this one.
I was actually doubting whether I had selected Emory on my primary and since AMCAS is acting up I can't check. Thank God someone else hasn't gotten it.
No worries, my first MCAT was a 26, second was a 34, and I have a secondary. Hang tight.still waiting for secondary. my first mcat test had a very low score in one section. my second test was much better. do you think the subscore of my first test could have gotten me screened out? would they notify me if i got screened out?
we are very nearly identical applicants mcat-wise. thank you for the info.No worries, my first MCAT was a 26, second was a 34, and I have a secondary. Hang tight.
does having your letters turned in affect whether you receive a secondary (at this school or other schools)? No secondary here yet. I am starting to think that MD/PhDs follow a different pattern for certain schools . ..This is the second school that it seems like a lot of people have received secondaries and I haven't in spite of pretty good numbers and June 4 verification with all LORs already in. If anyone has any different insight, I would appreciate it.
I don't think so, I guess my point is just that I have everything possible in place and am just wondering if the MD/PhD applications get looked at in a different order than regular MD. It is not that I haven't heard from anyone, but was just wondering.does having your letters turned in affect whether you receive a secondary (at this school or other schools)?

That's what I am hoping! Good luck!I applied MD/PhD here too and still haven't received a secondary, so maybe Emory looks at these differently before sending secondaries?
just got it this morning! No worries, my first MCAT was a 26, second was a 34, and I have a secondary. Hang tight.
what exactly are they asking for the first question, are we just listing what classes we will be taking in the fall and spring?
Ill be attending uni in fall but graduating in December.....
Still no secondary....
