All my other rejections were nicely worded. This one was rude, especially since they use it as an opportunity to promote their expensive programs. And other schools say the reason for the rejection is because of so many applications, while Loyola assumes underqualification.

I just like the "encouragement on your journey forward if medicine remains your goal" part that implies that I don't have a chance of getting in anywhere else since they rejected me. And then they advertised 10 other programs. It doesn't actually bother me, but I just think its funny how the email is worded

And @aspiringmed_UM that is such an ambiguous email :/
 
Ok, I'm so confused. I can't even access the portal for the last week. Tried four browsers and am using the exact same link. No word via email, I'm pre-interview. Anyone else having this problem?

Complete in July, updated in late December, still have the "Your file is currently undergoing a review by our committee. Thank you for applying to Loyola University Chicago-Stritch School of Medicine" status, and no rejection email, II, or anything else for months. . .anyone else in the same boat?

I was complete after you, October due to MCAT. But sent update in Dec. No update of any kind from Loyola. Still listed as under review.

Same here. Complete end of August. Sent in two updates.
 
Rejected today pre-II, OOS, LizzyM 69, complete 7/31. I was on hold for Spring or w/e so I guess I got the boot.

They were nice enough to attach MS Program to the email though.
 
If we have an interview tomorrow does that basically mean we'll go straight to waitlist?

I am PRE-II and just this message also. It seems really odd to say they declined to offer me an acceptance as opposed to an interview as I have yet to interview there and should not be in consideration for an acceptance yet.

My portal updated from "under review" to this : Your file has been reviewed by the Committee on Admissions. The review process is continuous from now until the conclusion of our interview season in March. If you are granted an interview, you will be contacted by phone and/or e-mail.
Is this pretty much a small-pool status or what? For students that were offered IIs, is this what you status changed to before you were granted an II?

that is a hold email, which at this point is not so good
 
Hey everybody! I got my acceptance yesterday and am so excited! I am sorry for those who did not get one. I know the feeling all too well, and trust me, I know how much it actually hurts. But please keep your heads up and just try again. I am more than happy to help anyone that may want to talk, get advice/tips, or that just wants to vent. Feel free to PM me or whatever it is you guys do on this site lol (i am new to the forums)

For all others that were accepted, I think we should make a facebook group so that we can get to know each other 🙂 let me know if yall are interested in something like this. Hope to meet you all in person at second look

If the update system isn't working, type your update into a word doc and email it to the admissions office. Tomas will update it for you. When I needed to update my file, I also sent the email to Mr. Nabers. Hope this helps !

Absolutely! I am all for the fb page. I would love to meet my prospective classmates.
 
Anyone know how the rolling admissions works now that they decision dates are passed? Could we just hear at any time?
 
If you're put on a wait list, does the status change from "you have completed your interview..."

I asked what happens if you interviewed but did not hear back on Feb. 15th and was told that all final decisions will happen on March 15th and that an alternate list will be constructed by mid-April. I wasn't told anything about status changes in the portal. Hope that is helpful!

When was your interview? When did your portal turn to "interview complete"? I think I'm due for the same letter shortly:-/
 
so my status from under review just changed to this:
