They called me. Honestly, the interview process was so wonderful at Loyola. Good luck to everyone! It would be such an honor to attend this institution. They also mentioned that there would be one more interview day next week. Hope is still alive for those who are still waiting for a II! Best of luck.
 
Does anyone know when the committee meets? I know it's twice a month but like actual dates?

My status changed several times. I went from "under review" to what would be considered a hold, back to "under review" prior to being offered an interview!
 
Admissions is officially finished interviewing for the year. There is one more interview day for people who had their flights canceled due to weather last week, but otherwise they aren't anticipating any more interview dates! Goodluck to everyone, where ever you decide to go!

Do you know when the committee is meeting next?
 
Just curious, but if you have this status:

"Thank you for your interest in the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine. Your file has completed review and will be given additional consideration throughout the duration of the cycle."

Does that basically mean you're not going to hear back from the school until after May 15th at the earliest? Or is there another committee meeting date before then?

I think there is another committee meeting any day now, probably near March 15th. When was your interview?

Looks like my portal just changed to waitlist status. Did this happen for anyone else?
 
How long does it take for your portal to change after your interview?
 
Officially rejected 2/29 after no word since July, but it's all good, matriculating elsewhere. Good luck everyone!
 
Just got the email about second look weekend. It says we can bring up to 3 guests - does Loyola pay the expenses (flight, housing) for guests too?

Pretty sure schools don't pay for anyone to attend second looks :/

Does anyone know if they've accepted people from the waitlist yet? Or when they might start accepting people off the waitlist? I interviewed way back in September and received the waitlist status in late October... I love this school and am dying to get in!!

Just as a side note: one of the schools I was accepted too offered a stipend generous enough to cover my flight and hotel. Not the norm, but it happens.

Not sure about Loyola specifically but most waitlist movement will occur in April - June once more positions open up. It seems second look weekend is in April 8 so who have been accepted will probably wait till after second look to make their decision. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful and specific about waitlist movement but if you really love the school, it could be worth sending them a letter of interest. 🙂 In general, it's good to keep the school updated every month to show you've maintained interest!

I guess I have to stay patient haha. I have an LOI/Love letter I'm planning to submit today or tomorrow, and I'll keep the advice to stay in frequent contact in mind. Thanks for the reply!!

The waitlist can move anytime between now and orientation! As people begin to choose where they will be attending in the fall, more spots will open and Loyola will be able to make more offers. Most second look dates occur in April, so people will start making choices shortly after! Most of the waitlist movement will likely occur just before/after April 30th, since that is the deadline for applicants to accept a single offer.

I interviewed on 2/25 and my portal status has not changed yet. I'm not sure how many interview dates were in Feb, but I would just hang tight! My understanding is the earliest movement/change in our portal status will not be until mid-march. Good luck to everyone!

In the same boat with no portal change. Interviewed mid-January.
