Can anyone figure out how we can submit an update? Paper letter? Email the same address we used to schedule interview?
Thanks! I have actually been using that list already thanks though 🙂. Now I am stuck trying to decide if paying for a prep course is worth it. Does anyone else have an opinion on MMI online courses?I haven't been preparing, but this might be a good place to start: https://www.pdx.edu/careers/sites/www.pdx.edu.careers/files/MMI information_0.pdf
I wouldn't worry that much. Just be yourself and look up pointers. If you are worried try practicing questions with a friend or someone you don't know. Thanks! Thank you ... I must have been so excited that I missed that bit. With the interview invite email, they ask you if you want to email them an update--usually people just reply to that invite email with the update.
I've submitted most of my secondaries as of last week (I was a july test taker but submitted my primary right when we were able to), and was thinking about adding OHSU as a last minute school. I knew from the get-go that it's a real crap shot for OOS'ers, but there's something about the Pacific Northwest that amazes me (I'm from Illinois it's flat, cold, and boring) and I want to end up somewhere in the region once I am done with all my training. Do I have a shot with my stats? c/sGPA - 3.94/3.88, MCAT 513, Average/Strong EC's, Pretty strong research (pubs in the works, not approved or published yet) and decent volunteering.
OHSU is actually very OOS friendly. The class statistics show more in-state but they interview a bunch of OOS people. The tuition is just extremely high so people choose to go to other programs.
Anything is possible if you believe enough...in your heart. They interview 4.8% of OOS and almost all of those are in one of their "groups"....I wouldn't exactly call that friendly. I believe it's not reported this way, but that group includes all Oregon high school graduates that they look at as IS, but AAMC looks at as OOS, so the number is probably lower than 4.8. And matriculation is what, .7%

Can someone explain where it says complete? I submitted 8/9 and still don't see anything about being complete.
Thank you!!
Are there very many re applicants in your class?Hey guys, I am an MS1 at OHSU coming up on fall break. I found this forum to be informative and helpful last year while applying. If you have any questions about OHSU or the curriculum feel free to ask away or PM me. I will do my best to get back to you promptly. Good luck to all!

Are many students truly OOS?
81% of our class was either in state or had significant Oregon heritage. For our class of 146 that translates to 28 truly OOS students by the definition I believe you are looking for.
Was it open or closed? What was the structure like? Stats?II 9/18. It was surprisingly relaxed, definitely hard, but fun and much less stressful then I expected. Good luck to everyone else! All that is left to wait and hope for the best at this point!!!

At the interview they said most people will hear back in 6-8 weeks and most likely placed on a post interview hold list until April or May. OHSU interviews everyone first before making final decisions.Did they say how long it would take until you heard back about the decision?
Interviewed 9/16....they told us 4-6 weeks? I think they are a little bit ahead this year (wishful thinking maybe), first II's went out mid-september last year I think and this year they went out mid-August so hoping to hear back sooner than early November like last year haha. We shall see! That hold list sounds daunting. At the interview they said most people will hear back in 6-8 weeks and most likely placed on a post interview hold list until April or May. Ahh just saw this post! Patiently waiting to hear post-interview decisions...~1/3 get an acceptance then? Not sure if that makes me feel better or worse...Per MSAR:
453 verified in-state apps
271 in-state interviewed
102 in-state matriculants
So ~60% to answer your question

I submitted my secondary on 8/19 and my file is still not complete... Anyone else in a similar boat?

My file isn't complete either... I submitted my secondary a week later than you did (8/26).
Haha that is a very good point! Thanks 🙂 I know I can't do anything but just wait....4 weeks post interview is this week! There are always more people with acceptance offers than matriculants, so if those numbers are correct >1/3 end up with an acceptance.
OHSU is one of the schools where in state tuition is still pretty expensive, so some Oregonians actually save money by taking an out-of-state offer.
Don't be sad! With 80% of people put on hold and "10%" accepted post interview that's maybe one or two people from your group being accepted. There's still hope!!Placed on hold today, interviewed 9/16 🙁
Thank you 🙂 I'll try to stay positive! Good luck to everyone else this cycle!Don't be sad! With 80% of people put on hold and "10%" accepted post interview that's maybe one or people from your group being accepted. There's hope still!
9/16 was the first interview they offered this yearIs there anyone that has interviewed on or before 9/16 that hasn't been put on hold?
