You can only do updates post interview invite unfortunately.

Can anyone figure out how we can submit an update? Paper letter? Email the same address we used to schedule interview?

I submitted my app on 8/17 and my file was complete on 8/25. MD/PhD

With the interview invite email, they ask you if you want to email them an update--usually people just reply to that invite email with the update.

Status changed to complete on 9/2 after having everything in 8/5. Says it could take another 3 months before I hear anything, but it's something!

Thanks! I have actually been using that list already thanks though 🙂. Now I am stuck trying to decide if paying for a prep course is worth it. Does anyone else have an opinion on MMI online courses?
I wouldn't worry that much. Just be yourself and look up pointers. If you are worried try practicing questions with a friend or someone you don't know.

I agree. The MMI at OHSU is a lot of fun and less stressful than I thought it would be going in. If you are really worried, the best practice is probably to take some ethical questions and just see if you can speak on them out loud for 5-6 min straight.

I would also set up a mock interview with your career center. It was incredibly helpful, being that it is video recorded at PSU and they review it with you.

Don't pay for an MMI course, the key is just to be yourself.

Thank you ... I must have been so excited that I missed that bit.

I've submitted most of my secondaries as of last week (I was a july test taker but submitted my primary right when we were able to), and was thinking about adding OHSU as a last minute school. I knew from the get-go that it's a real crap shot for OOS'ers, but there's something about the Pacific Northwest that amazes me (I'm from Illinois it's flat, cold, and boring) and I want to end up somewhere in the region once I am done with all my training. Do I have a shot with my stats? c/sGPA - 3.94/3.88, MCAT 513, Average/Strong EC's, Pretty strong research (pubs in the works, not approved or published yet) and decent volunteering.

Yes you have a pretty decent chance with your stats. OHSU is actually very OOS friendly. The class statistics show more in-state but they interview a bunch of OOS people. The tuition is just extremely high so people choose to go to other programs.

They interview 4.8% of OOS and almost all of those are in one of their "groups"....I wouldn't exactly call that friendly. I believe it's not reported this way, but that group includes all Oregon high school graduates that they look at as IS, but AAMC looks at as OOS, so the number is probably lower than 4.8. And matriculation is what, .7%

Anything is possible if you believe enough...in your heart.

I am not looking at those statistics because they don't factor in the fact that many students choose not to complete the secondary cause it is brutal. I am going off the fact that I am a student here and my class along with other classes have around 30% OOS which for a "public" university is a lot.

Yes, if you don't fit a mission group you have a very low chance. But the poster who asked fits a mission group given their high GPA/MCAT.

Can someone explain where it says complete? I submitted 8/9 and still don't see anything about being complete.

Are many students truly OOS?

II 9/18. It was surprisingly relaxed, definitely hard, but fun and much less stressful then I expected. Good luck to everyone else! All that is left to wait and hope for the best at this point!!!

Was it open or closed? What was the structure like? Stats?

Did they say how long it would take until you heard back about the decision?

The MMI is closed to your application. The one on one is "partially open" meaning no access to grades or MCAT but can read personal statement, essays, LOR, etc. However, just cause they CAN doesn't mean they will read any of it. That can vary.

The MMI is 8 mini stations that are 8 minutes each with I believe 2 minutes between each station. The 1 on 1 is about 20-30 minutes long.

Finished interviewing yesterday and loved it! It was a long day but I'm glad I had the opportunity to interview here. Good luck to my fellow interviewees and maybe we will be classmates next year 🙂.

At the interview they said most people will hear back in 6-8 weeks and most likely placed on a post interview hold list until April or May. OHSU interviews everyone first before making final decisions.

Attended interview this week. The MMI was definitely a mental marathon, I was pretty exhausted afterwards. The presentations were comprehensive and informative, though, and I would be ecstatic to gain acceptance here!

Interviewed 9/16....they told us 4-6 weeks? I think they are a little bit ahead this year (wishful thinking maybe), first II's went out mid-september last year I think and this year they went out mid-August so hoping to hear back sooner than early November like last year haha. We shall see! That hold list sounds daunting.

Per MSAR:

453 verified in-state apps
271 in-state interviewed
102 in-state matriculants

So ~60% to answer your question
Ahh just saw this post! Patiently waiting to hear post-interview decisions...~1/3 get an acceptance then? Not sure if that makes me feel better or worse...

There are always more people with acceptance offers than matriculants, so if those numbers are correct >1/3 end up with an acceptance.

OHSU is one of the schools where in state tuition is still pretty expensive, so some Oregonians actually save money by taking an out-of-state offer.

Haha that is a very good point! Thanks 🙂 I know I can't do anything but just wait....4 weeks post interview is this week!

Placed on hold today, interviewed 9/16 🙁
Don't be sad! With 80% of people put on hold and "10%" accepted post interview that's maybe one or two people from your group being accepted. There's still hope!!

Thank you 🙂 I'll try to stay positive! Good luck to everyone else this cycle!

Is there anyone that has interviewed on or before 9/16 that hasn't been put on hold?
