also, what's an EFI?

Eligible for interview. If you aren't at that point yet I wouldn't do the in the area call. @REL has said that in the area calls are acceptable though. I would email probably, not call.anyone know if the adcoms here are receptive to an in the area call?

It means you weren't already screened out which is good. The interview selection committee reviews all files that are EFI each week to select the next interviews.is it like a small pool or does it just mean that they read your application.
I just checked my portal and I am EFI too. not sure when I got it though

can they really review 3000 EFI applications every week?
can they really review 3000 EFI applications every week?
I thought about that too. I think it's more likely that they pick applications from the EFI pile and review them + give out II as they go. If they hypothetically spend 20 min per application, and assuming that's all they do for 8 hours (normal work hours) of the day, that means 24 applications a day per person. Which means they'd need a huge review committee just to hit 3000 applications a week...
I think it's also very possible that everyone that's EFI is ranked/scored and those nearer to the top get reviewed on a given week/sent IIsI thought about this as well, but not everyone reaches EFI at once. So the first week there is probably a pretty small pool.
Additionally as invites go out, those ones are no longer reviewed. Don't get me wrong, even with my rationale, by the last few weeks of interview reviews, we are talking about 2400. That said though, by then some will have dropped their applications after receiving acceptances elsewhere or out of frustration.
My guess is that it is somewhere in between what I just said and what you posted. I think they review more than a few, but by the end it would be crazy to review them all each week.

I think it means you are still being reviewed. I was EFI for quite a while before receiving an II as well.Wait so does that mean if I have been EFI-ed since late July and haven't received an II, I'm probably done? Or am I going to be re-reviewed later and possibly receive an II? I'm definitely NOT dropping my application to this one even if I had other acceptances..haha hopefully others will though!
Got the II call today! First one! Complete 8/14
Would you mind saying if you were IS or OOS? Congrats 🙂Got the II call today! First one! Complete 8/14
Kick some butt and report back 🙂.IS. The first availability was mid October. Less than a month away! Cue the hyperventilating
Last year's secondart et al. are available to committee, but each year is a new deal and documents should be treated as if this were your first year. Never submit same letter packet, update them or change them. Ditto with essay....should be updated in some way.@REL For reapplicants, is the previous secondary application compared/included to this year's application? Therefore, I should only include information that are new or different than what I had written before?
I am!Anyone else interviewing this Friday?
I posted that last week. Are you interviewing this week or did you already? Loved the school btw!I am!
Both of my interviewers were great. The interviews are one on one. I loved basically everything about the school. Everything they are doing there and the vision behind it all really impresses me and makes me want to be a part of it.Oh hahaha not sure why I didn't recognize that! I am interviewing this Friday. What did you love about the school? What were your interviews like?
Thanks for the insight. I am excited to see it in person! Both of my interviewers were great. The interviews are one on one. I loved basically everything about the school. Everything they are doing there and the vision behind it all really impresses me and makes me want to be a part of it.

Can you find a member of the admissions committee and ask them to send an II to rudyrude?I just finished interviewing. I'm literally sitting in the school's lobby right now. I really like the school. Let me know if you have any questions.

there's still plenty of time. As far as I know interviews are conducted pretty consistently all the way through the first or second week of March. How far along do you think the interview process is now at UCF? Still hoping for an II and hope I'm not too far behind!
Congrats! When were you complete?Interview invitation received today! Out of state non-traditional applicant headed to Orlando at the end of the month
Thanks!! Any interview pointers are much appreciated from those that have already visited.Congrats! When were you complete?
Wait... you get to watch a surgery DURING your interview day??The interview was pretty sweet. Relaxed interviews, nice faculty and staff, friendly students, amazing tour/amenities, and, my favorite, HIGH DEGREE OF TRANSPARENCY. UCF basically gave away the farm on how they evaluate candidates, how they rank them, when they will notify us, and what information they will give us when they notify us. In fact, they are very willing to talk to students inquiring about their status. Overall, I was very pleased with UCF. Baylor was my first interview and they impressed me with their class and organization...UCF was my second and they were right up there with Baylor. UCF is an up and coming program that many argue has already made it...and honestly you can't argue against in light of their results and conduct as an institution of medical education.
In essence: it was awesome.
Oh, and you get to watch a surgery...possibly a robotic surgery at one of the nicest hospitals you will ever step inside. 😍
