What is the faculty lead small group discussion during the interview?

It's a mock PBL session basically. But you're not being evaluated during it; it's just for interviewees to get a feel for part of the curriculum.

The II email says there will be an interview with a faculty member and a medical student.
Does anyone know if it is 1 interview with both at the same time? Or is it 2 separate interviews?

Also, does anyone know if the interviews are open file, or closed file?

Two separate interviews! And according to the most recent interview feedback, they're both closed-file.

The faculty one was open-file. idk if the interviewer had my GPA, MCAT, etc., but he definitely had my essays.

He definitely had my personal statement. There were other pages with writing, which I assume were my secondary essays. Or maybe they were my LoRs? We only discussed my PS so I can't say for sure. This was the MD interview day so I don't think me being MSTP had an effect.

Separate interviews. I'm pretty sure student was closed file and faculty was open file, but I could be wrong.

My faculty interviewer had everything from my application except my scores.

Just to clarify,

Student interview is first and it's completely closed file, except for your name, undergrad, and I believe your hometown.

Faculty interview is open file except for grades and MCAT.

If you got an interview, your grades and MCAT are assumed to be good enough for admission, and there's no need for that to factor into the interviewers' evals.

It's a really chill interview day!
