Same thing happened to me. Checked SDN - wave of rejections. Checked e-mail - nothing. Sigh of relief. Refreshed e-mail, and then the rejection appeared.

YUP, LizzyM 73, got the ax too. Got rejected from U of Rochester, but have an interview in Rochester MN (Mayo). Go figure.

Not too sad, as I applied broadly ( and to 24 schools ). Got 9 II, 2 acceptances so. Where I got II, waitlisted, rejected, and accepted doesn't follow any rhyme or reason so far. AGAIN, apply broadly, do your volunteer work, tutoring, research, and clinical work, as you never know who/what they are looking for. I needed a couple of gap years to accumulate a competitive app, so take that into consideration. Moving on, good luck to those still in the race at Rochester.

This rejection hurt a lot more than the other three I've gotten for some reason... Probably because I thought I stood a really good chance at this school and currently have interviews for schools with similar stats. LizzyM 75, good luck everyone

I was early, did Rochester as the first one (I don't remember any essays) I think this was the one with all the check boxes (which I hardly checked any, no ties at all). Probably first week of July. My point (which I did delete my insensitive post), was that this whole thing is a crap shoot from applicants perspective. I applied to 24 schools, and have silence or rejections from 15 of them. Apply broadly, and I highly recommend gap years to beef up your credentials!!
