Everyone who interviews at Houston gets put on the waitlist! Last year I was on it and there were definitely several people who got off especially around the time Baylor gave out acceptances! Best of luck!

Sighhh...im on the waitlist too. Since everyone is on the wait list I dont have high hopes. Anyways when does Baylor give out most of their acceptances? Does AMCAS have a deadline for anything of the sort?

I ranked UTH #1 and matched to my #2. I received the waitlist email today around 11am I hope that I can get off the waitlist sooner rather than later or not at all! ): I loved UTH.
 
is there anything to do on a 5hour layover within walking distance of houston airport?

They don't ever really release those numbers but it tends to be a fairly significant amount, I believe. I was accepted from the waitlist in June, the day before I was set to move away to attend another med school. There's definitely hope. Keep your head up.

It's true. If they interviewed you and you've not yet been accepted, you're on the wait list.
 
Did anyone who had already pre-matched to UTH and then matched them get another email or letter?? I already received my acceptance in November but I was curious if they were gonna send anything else since I matched.

I did not get anything. Sort of doubt they will send us anything again.
 
I just got an email saying I'm position #34 on the waiting list for housing. What are my odds of actually getting a place? Thanks!

When did you fill out the application?? I haven't gotten an email or anything and i applied pretty much at midnight.

Hmm, still have not heard anything either. Anyone with knowledge of how the waitlist and what it means if we still have not heard anything?

Last year, I looked through old threads to find the earliest dates of waitlist movement over the past few years, and I don't remember anything happening before March or April (sometimes later). I forget exact dates, but don't lose hope if you haven't heard anything yet - it's still early for movement.

Do you remember what this email address was? I have an update to send but I can't seem to find the email address in my information from them.

I just re-read the email. They are accepting them, but it won't change your rank, which is basically the same thing. Thanks for your help!
 
Has anyone watching the thread participated in the pre-entry program? I'd like to know about your experience with it.
 
Is it pretty much CERTAIN that UT Houston Med school will not let you defer??
 
Any other texas schools that are deferral friendly?

Current MS1 here at UTH. I know you guys are checking here daily for wait list updates, I know I was this time last year. Waitlist movement is just starting to happen. A few, including myself, found out around this time last year. The majority find out in May and June because of movement from other schools. I know the waiting game can be brutal especially as you are trying to plan moving etc. UTH was definitely worth the wait and I am so glad to be here. As always, if you have any questions feel free to post on here or through PM. Not on here very much but, I'll do my best to reply.

But if you're in state in Texas and have been accepted to any other Texas school (including Baylor) you cannot be accepted off a wait list after June 1. So if most wait list action happens in June that only benefits people who didn't match anywhere.
 
Has anyone heard anything regarding scholarships? The app said that we would start to hear back on April 15. Just wondering if anyone had heard/received anything or knew anything about the scholarship process.

Nope, haven't heard anything back about scholarships. I recall some current students saying that the scholarship announcements generally come out around the same time as financial aid notifications (even though they are two separate departments). Unfortunately, they said that was later in the summer, closer to the start of school.
