Good question. Last year they ended up posting it on our facebook page across multiple days, in chunks. I don't think it was ever officially published.
This year we haven't heard anything yet. I have contacted admin, but no answer yet.

Here's a message that Dr. Chan posted in our Facebook group today-

"Your class is officially expanding from 122 to 125!!!

We have been in discussions with the Idaho legislature, and they have agreed to increase their support for 2 additional medical students here at UUSOM (so going from 8 Idaho UUSOM students to 10). The governor of Idaho just signed the bill allowing this. And the third position will be going towards the other applicant pools.

We had anticipated this at the beginning of the this season and were able to interview the appropriate number of people.

So congratulations to the Class of 2020! You will officially be the largest class in UUSOM history :)

Pretty cool stuff, glad that I get to have three more classmates to get to know and befriend! Hope these seats go out to some of you awesome SDNers!!!

That is great. I hope the U and Utah's government will work together to expand the class for Utah residents. The state is saturated with pre-meds and the loose requirements for who qualifies as a Utah resident for matriculation purposes makes it difficult for anyone who actually has their residency in the state.

Yea, we have tons of pre-meds here. I think the UUSOM's biggest push for the Board of Regrnts and the legislature is to secure funding for the new medical school and its associated buildings before any push is made for more class seats. I am glad that the school has been able increase from 82 students my first year of applying to 125 now.

From what I have heard, the admissions office is aware of the frustration people had with this year's experience and are looking to tweak the admissions process a bit. I will watch next year's thread because I will be curious to see how things look- plus having me on the application thread at Utah has kind of become an SDN tradition :D

Any waitlist movement, particularly with the Idaho alternatives?
 
Judging from the forum from last year, don't expect anything to happen until next week.
 
So I just signed up to take the new MCAT. Anyone have any advise?

I felt July 8th was too soon. I am definitely reapplying. I'll my application before my new mcat score rolls in though.

Have you heard anything about taking the MCAT on July 22 putting us at a huge disadvantage as far as applying goes?

Not really no. I'm not really sure why that would be the case.

Understandable. Although I plan on submitting my application as early as possible before I get my score back. This is considered risky, but I guess it's a risk I'm willing to take.

The past three cycles all saw waitlist movement the first day after the "only hold one seat" deadline. Hope we get movement tomorrow!

According to last year's thread (which I realize isn't everything) it looks like everyone who made it off the waitlist was accepted the day after the one acceptance deadline. Is there any reason to believe that they didn't send out ALL the initial WL spots that they had available?

I think they probably did. It's hard to know because only a fraction of applicants post on this thread. That said, I can't imagine why they wouldn't. There will be some more acceptances though. I went back over the threads from the past 3 years and it looked like most of the time people got in off the waitlist on the first day but there were a couple of people who got in after.

Any news from Idaho applicants? I'm guessing at this point that no news is probably bad news.
 
Usually no one hears anything after the first few days after May 01. If you haven't heard, you might want to get started on your AMCAS. That's just the reality.
 
There should be movement for at least the first 2 weeks because anyone accepted after the deadline has 10 days to make their decision. Also, currently accepted applicants may get off wait lists at other schools they rate higher. Things should be pretty settled in a few weeks though so, if you aren't accepted anywhere, it might be a good idea to plan for the worse like vellez said.

So I just got news from the Office of Admissions that they are considering me a Non-resident. Without going into details I definitely consider myself a resident and plan to appeal. Has anyone gone through this and had success with appealing this decision?

The same thing happened to me. To be honest, I don't remember how I fixed it, but there was some information they were missing or something. Just contact them and get it sorted out, should be no problem.

It's alright, I'm accepted to UCF and I'm happy to go there.

It was by email. They let me down softly. I give the rejection email a 10/10.
