Hey all, wondering about the first essay topic here. Would a "personal" challenge extend into the illness of a family member? I took a very personal role in dealing with it and certainly learned a lot about myself in the process. If comfortable, could people post the general topic that they wrote on for this one?

I think that's valid as long as you discuss the matter as it pertains to you: how you were challenged, how you met those challenges, and what you learned/skills you gained. I discussed a serious ethical dilemma that I encountered, but everyone's experiences in life are different.

On an unrelated note, has anyone who applied for both university and college tracks and was complete early August heard back yet? I know it may take a while to hear back if you apply to both.

I think it was my gpa on amcas. I had a rocky start to postbacc so I think mines came down to a numbers game.

I am in same boat as you, submitted 8/3 to both programs. Haven't heard anything as of yet

The student hosting is available now! It's a little different, you put in the date you need and they match you up with someone. They matched me in about thirty seconds flat, so it must be some sort of automated system.

Also @CWRU_iApply_Dev, just so you know, after submitting my hosting request I received 6 separate emails confirming that my request was received.

How did you find out about student hosting? Couldn't see anything on iApply 🙁

When's the last time you logged in? I just checked right now and the link is there. Were you interviewing for the University Program? Maybe it's specific for the track you're interviewing for becuase my link says "Choose a UP Student Host"

Edit: Could also be that they made the link available for those who are interviewing earlier? Mines is two weeks from today. Maybe that's why it shows up for some and not for others.

Has anyone had a status update that just says "ccc"? Any ideas what this might mean?
 
Anyone rejected from lerner but hear nothing from CW yet?
 
I think it would make more sense if they just postponed letting you know of a decision if they finished before Lerner as a courtesy if you got both interviews rather than just not reviewing you until later. So you may or may not have been reviewed by the time Lerner decides, but you won't know CWRU until then or after?

Someone correct me if I'm off base 😛

I heard back from both simultaneously (and I know most people who have invites from both have experienced this), so I think there is a degree of collaboration. Apparently this is not a hard and fast rule, though -- maybe CWRU just really, really wanted stradivarius21?

Unfortunately, CWRU did *not* want me (I was rejected 🙁) but I was put on hold for Lerner - that's why I said they're working independently of each other, but it's totally possible that I'm just an anomaly haha
 
Could that have come in yesterday and you just noticed it today?
 
Got the II on 8/18 for the University Track. But got the rejection pre-II earlier for the Cleveland Clinic.
LizzyM ~75, completed the secondary on 7/19.
 
"You are eligible to provide updates through iApply. Select the file containing your updated information with the 'Choose File' button, then click Submit to upload the file. You will see a notice below indicating your file was received."

This notice appeared sometime in the last two days. Has this shown up for everyone? Complete 8/4 🙂

Updates to University Program and College Program applications are only accepted from:
  1. Applicants to whom interviews have been offered
  2. Applicants whose applications are being held for future review
  3. Applicants who have been interviewed and whose applications have been placed on hold after interview
  4. All applicants eligible for updates will have the option visible on their Application Status page

This is what I see on the payment page so if you don't have an interview, maybe you are being held for future review?

Hopefully I'll know for sure after Labor Day since I don't have any other updates besides "Complete" 🙂
 
Update: I suppose the emailing system is a little laggy! Got the email this morning, but the update in the portal says 9/4

Put on pre interview hold! 🙂 Actually quite surprised they didn't just reject me outright, LizzyM 69 and complete 8/4

-edit- This is for the University Track. Lerner has yet to get back to me 😛
