+1, I also did not receive that email. It's weird that they would send an email like that out so close to the decision date anyway. Don't they know we're all puddles of anxiety over here!

That was my thought too. I don't think it means anything whatsoever, I just thought it was funny that I'm all like "I can haz med schools plz?" and they're all like "Hey, you should look into this master's program!"
 
I wish they'd release decisions as soon as they make them, no point in waiting
 
Then it wouldn't be non rolling, and the time when you interview would matter. The point is that they make a decision on the whole class after everyone has interviewed, and decisions on the class are probably still continuing.

So for updates I'm sending some info on my research and student org involvement. I was also considering sending an updated transcript but my GPA went down by like .01 bc of my grades last semester, should I still send the transcript or should I just not say anything about grades? I was still considered "university honors" so I could just say that without sending my grades? Thanks y'all!

I'd recommend against sending your updated GPA since it went down slightly, but mentioning the university honors sounds like a good idea! And make sure to send in your update ASAP, they'll be making decisions very soon!
 
They asked that we upload a copy of our thank you letters on the online portal. When I went to do this though, it says that there is an error, no space in the file? I tried a PDF well under 5MB. Did anyone else run into this?
 
sorry if this has been asked/answered, but does Columbia ever request/accept senior fall grades to review before a decision?
 
if i wanted to send them an update, should i e-mail it to my interviewer or the admissions office?
 
Anyone else still recovering from the NYU calling accepted people trauma a few weeks ago? I don't think I can do it again. The calling method is really the worse way to do it. Just give everyone their decision at the same time 😡

Yep. After being waitlisted there I don't think I'm going to get in to any schools that do phone calls haha
 
I'm abroad right now with a foreign number. Decision time....put SIM card back in on Thursday and rack up a $500 bill waiting for a call that may never come, or just wait and not know till portal update....

After getting waitlisted by my state school AND NYU in two days, I kinda feel like this is going to be super rough week for my birthday...

That's probably the play I'll go with. Especially since waiting will be extra hard. I'm five hours ahead of EST, after business hours is bedtime for me.

Oh no, please tell me Columbia isn't doing phone calls also... It's unbearable!

Thanks for the response. I called to verify and they claimed that they were "still reviewing applicants." I'm pretty sure they are reviewing applicants who are on the waitlist (post-interview)....

I think it will be next Thursday. They said they'd make decisions by "mid-February"... not by the end of the 1st full week of the month.
 
Personally I'm still holding out hope for tomorrow, although if we don't end up hearing I think it'll probably be next Wednesday at least given their two day system with calls and portal updates.
