NJMS does a single, open file, one on one faculty interview; which is normally conversational. However, the school is heavily in state biased according to the most recent MSAR data (reporting 75 OOS interviews and 4 matrics).

Well no, they probably accept higher than 4 OOS students in a given year, but only four chose to matriculate.

Acceptance numbers are always higher than matriculation. I'd say go in with the mindset that you want to be a physician and that training under the mission of NJMS will best prepare you for success. You got an interview for a reason; don't forget that

I wouldn't worry about being from OOS. I also interviewed from OOS and really saw myself fitting in well there despite not being from NJ. Also the school probably is trying to expand their national brand (Big10) by bringing in more OOS students this year and in the near future.

@Lnsean 9/28, a while ago

I haven't been given a decision either and I interviewed mid September. Still optimistic for a good outcome though! I have a friend who said he waited a month and a half before he was accepted. It's roughly at that time for me.

Anyone know anything about their selection process once interviewed? Seems pretty random.

Got my first II here just an hour ago! Almost crying right now! Complete 10/28 so really surprised I heard back already! Any tips on interviewing here? I also opted for the student interview!

Has anyone with an II had any trouble scheduling interviews? I can't seem to see any times on the calendar dates 🙁

There were still plenty of dates left in late November and basically all of December is open for interviews.

Has this school sent out rejection letters yet? Complete end of August and haven't heard anything. Should I give up on this school? 🙁

Hey guys. Does anyone know if NJMS med students offer any accommodations for interviewees? Is there a link or something to request? And if not, where did you guys stay the night before? Any decent affordable places close by?

Has anyone gotten any acceptances in the past couple days? or do phone calls only go out on the weekends?

Been two weeks for me. My interviewer told me not to expect anything before Thanksgiving and one of the people in admissions told me they're trying to get decisions back within 4 weeks for the people that interviewed recently. Not sure if this helps.

I interviewed late september. I read on here earlier that they send out a couple phone calls every night, but the thread's been pretty quiet and its cutting pretty close to 8 weeks for me

Does anybody have any tips for parking there for interviews? I have one on Monday and I've heard that it can be tough sometimes! Also, if anybody is also going that day let me know! 🙂

There is a parking garage on the corner which is right next to university hospital. I recommend following the directions and campus map on the website. It was super easy to find so don't worry too much.

If you park in the parking garage, make sure you ask for a parking validation ticket from admissions! I had someone drop me off, but other people I interviewed with said you need to get a voucher for parking

Are you committed to NJMS already and did you consider other schools?

It's pretty much my top choice outside of nyc schools. So unless I hear from nyc schools, which i haven't yet, i won't be considering other schools. Going to withdraw from philly schools too.
