Anyone here applying MD/PhD? My application in the admissions portal still says pending even though I submitted the secondary application and fee weeks ago. Is there anything else we need to do after submitting the secondary?

I believe the 5 pm deadline was for the primary application, not the secondary.Should i write them an email or call them to check on the 5:06 submission? 🙁((( Hmm....#noNeurosis
the secondary portal said sept 30 5pm. somehow I didn't login to the portal head of time.... assumed it was another day/ or atleast until midnight..and then I failed to notice that the application didn't save everything when I got direct to "CLICK HERE To pay secondary fee" page. So that's why it was 5:06pm b.c I spend 6 mins retyping everything aagain
Sometimes, some offices consider 6pm or even the day of as OK even if they advertise otherwise. Not the best option, but its ok.
I submitted 5:06pm for a 5pm secondary deadline. It's ok. No problems...seriously
Sorry about that 🙁 Maybe you can call A&M on Monday and ask them if they would let you still be reviewed.
I would definitely NOT call A&M and ask about it. The only thing you are going to hear back from them is that you should not have waited until the last minute to do it, (I'm not trying to sound unsympathetic, but I'm trying to be direct and honest with you... trust me, I've made the same mistakes in the past and I've had to learn the hard way... In the application process, turning things right "on-time" is definitely considered "LATE!"). Put yourself in their shoes, why would they want to give special consideration for someone that waited until the last day possible to submit their application (It's been open for 4 months already). Just hope that they show some mercy and compassion your way and learn from this mistake if you have to reapply next year. Good luck!
For when?? I got an II from them as well for MD/PhD!! I submitted 9/30 and the interview is for 10/26-10/27.Got an interview invite today for MD/PhD! Submitted II on 9/25
I got mine for Oct 19-20th, but I'm trying to reschedule for either 10/26-27 or 11/16-17 if its possible since I'm already going to be in the area those days. That way I wont have to fly there 3 times in four weeks. For when?? I got an II from them as well for MD/PhD!! I submitted 9/30 and the interview is for 10/26-10/27.
If you're not OOS it's not a big deal. You'll just miss the prematchingAlso got II on 10/5 for 10/19-10/20 but then they rescheduled me today to 12/7-12/8, anyone else in a similar situation?

Prematching only matters for in state. If you're MD/PHD don't worry about what I said about being OOS. In my interview, I was told that they ONLY accept out of state students on the first wave (Oct 15) and that they have not had to accept any other students past that date to reach their 10% OOS number in the last few year. But, I'm 99% sure that she was just referring to MD applicants. Not MD/PHD.I didn't ask to be re-scheduled, they just notified me. Bummer because the 10/19-10/20 interview was 2 weeks away from my II and I had just settled (expensive) travel arrangements as I am OOS.
I am OOS. What exactly is the pre-matching? I applied MD/PhD. Does it apply to MD/PhD applicants?
I apologize in advance if this was already elaborated somewhere else in the thread.

Yeah, I got an II (for Md/PhD) for 10/26-27 on 10/5 and then on 10/7 they emailed me and told me that they had moved it to 12/7-8. I was on Expedia looking at plane tickets when I got the email...Good thing that they didn't email me later that day! Also got II on 10/5 for 10/19-10/20 but then they rescheduled me today to 12/7-12/8, anyone else in a similar situation?

I called them to make sure that the date change was intentional, etc., since I had also not received the MD/PhD invite yet. The lady on the phone (Jillian I think) told me that it was intentional and that the MD/PhD program would email me very soon with their own invitation. I got the MD/PhD invite a couple of hours later. I kind of got the impression that there might have been a minor communication issue between the COM and the MD/PhD program, but I could totally be wrong. No unfortunately, just that it was incorrect.
If I had to guess, maybe there aren't MD/PhD interview slots on 10/19? I got the reschedule before the 48 hour contact window for MD/PhD ended, so I didn't have the official II for MD/PhD on 10/19. MD/PhD did send me their invite after the reschedule.
That is why I was curious to see if any other MD/PhD applicants are in a similar situation, to either confirm or refute this before reaching out to the office.
Regardless, I am excited for Texas A&M. I just don't want to be interviewed too late, as it was a top choice for me.
Actually, I would recommend looking into flying to Houston (IAH or Hobby) as it is a shorter drive to Bryan/College Station from there.I called them to make sure that the date change was intentional, etc., since I had also not received the MD/PhD invite yet. Regardless, the date change means that plane tickets (from very far OOS) will be much cheaper for me and that I won't miss a midterm and a poster session because of it. And it lets me get more interview practice under my belt so that I can nail this one. I guess we'll all be seeing each other in December then!
Also, @m2regen where are you flying into? I am debating whether it would be better for me to spend about $230 for a plane ticket to Dallas or San Antonio and rent a car or just go ahead and spend about $400 to fly into College Station. I'm sure that I would still save some money if I did the whole car rental thing, but I'm not sure if it's more of a headache than it's worth.
I looked into that, but it was about $300-$330 to fly through Houston and $400 to fly straight into College Station. I had figured that a $100 difference would probably be offset by extra travel time and the cost of renting a car, but that a difference of just under $200 might be worth it. A flight to Austin with a layover in Houston was also cheaper than taking the exact same flight to Houston by itself....airline logic...Actually, I would recommend looking into flying to Houston (IAH or Hobby) as it is a shorter drive to Bryan/College Station from there.

I'm thinking that it's probably what I'm going to end up doing. It's just also tempting to think that I could save a lot of money by going to another place and driving. When I was looking for my first interview date of 10/26-27, flying to Dallas was about $400 cheaper than flying to College Station. Since they rescheduled me for December, it's about $200 cheaper to fly through Dallas, so the cost of renting a car and driving very well could end up being more of a hassle than it's worth. Thanks for the advice!Dallas to San Antonio is an hour long flight and the drive from San Antonio to College Station is about 3 hours; also you'll probably only save $50-100 if you do the whole car rental thing. If cost is not a major factor, I would save myself the headache and unnecessary stress of driving and just fly into college station.
II today!
Would it be poor form to wear my UT cufflinks?
I noticed the same thing. I figured that I can probably find a place to stay on the 8th for a reasonable price and that I might be able to go to some classes or get a better look at the school during the extra time I would stay there. I also don't have any classes on the 9th though since finals start on the 10th at my school..I agree that the positives outweigh the negatives about the later interview date.
I am not sure exactly where I am flying in but I am learning towards to Austin or Houston, which seem like the closest drives (people with Texas familiarity, please correct me if I am wrong), since the tickets are far cheaper, and it seems like there aren't flights out of CLL (College Station) after 5 PM to my location on 12/8 (the interview day is slated to end ~5:30 I believe).
I haven't had any issues with the login or with the pdf. As far as the cufflinks go, you would probably still be in a better situation than I am (clearly, "football" means "fútbol" to me) 🙂II today!

Also, the login info they sent me doesn't work and the packet pdf won't open. Get it together A&M!
Would it be alright with you if you disclosed your submission date, LizzyM, and interview dates?II today!

I just used the link included in the email, and it took me to the portal for the secondary app. I logged in using the username and password I already had and then clicked on "View" under "Interview RSVP" in the Outstanding Assignments section. I applied MD/PhD, but I can't see the invite being very different. My COM invite and MD/PhD invite were emailed to me separately.Ou used the login they emailed you and didn't have to register a new account?

Does anyone here know if A&M has any opportunities for global health during medical school? I am interested in getting some experience abroad in developing countries.
