Does u penn stop interviewing in January while others interview as late as march?
 
For anyone who already interviewed, what kind of "business casual" apparel were girls wearing? "Men's business casual" seems so much more obvious...
 
On my interview day pretty much everyone just wore a suit, although from talking to current students it didn't really seem to matter what you wore.

I wore my suit skirt and a long sleeved blouse (no jacket). Most people were still wearing a suit, but I didn't feel out of place being slightly dressed down

Yes, the last interview dates for us are in January

I don't really pay attention, but basically if you google image "business casual women," along those lines should be fine. There are some interview days where everyone is in their suits/interview attire and other interview days where pretty much everyone is in business casual attire. It's an interesting group dynamic
 
Has anyone been placed on a formal "hold"? ... I've been complete since August and haven't heard.

Last year the last II was on 12/7 -- so still nearly another month for hope! Don't give up yet!
 
Based on last year's thread, it seems that starting around this time, peoples' application statuses in the portal started changing to the "Status of Death" or "SOD" (what they all called it lol)

The Committee on Admissions reviewed your application but has not invited you for an interview at this time. Additional reviews will occur and any change in your status will be communicated to you.

ALL ADMISSIONS DECISIONS WILL BE ANNOUNCED BY MARCH 15."

What's the status of death again?
Ahh just looked it up, I have it too lol... well at least Penn tells you theyve read your app but won't give you an interview
 
Did you all receive an email or just check the portal?
 
Do ppl that get SOD ever get re reviewed? Trying to figure out if I should just unfollow this thread 🙁
 
It looks like they do. Also in last year thread I saw two people who had SOD and later got IIs. However, one seemed to be immediately after someone else withdrew and the other possibly as well.

It looks like many people didn't get the SOD all the way until they were rejected, so perhaps the SOD is like a purgatory and only opens up to replace Interview spots if needed.

+1 I guess I was expecting this though. It was a reach haha
 
+1 but this was suuuper reach school. Complete in July.
 
Also got the SOD. Same day as a UCSF rejection and an interview invite to another Philly school.

You win some, you lose some. This was a moonshot school for me. Good luck to all!

I still have the first status. I was complete in mid-August so I don't know if they just haven't gotten to me yet? This is a super reach for me so I am def not expecting an II.

Complete 9/13, and I got the SOD yesterday, LM 77-78, OOS

Either they really like your app or they really dislike mine. I would like to think its the first of the two 🙂

Haha I'd like to think that as well but I think its only a matter of time before I get the SOD
