Can anyone speak to the financial aid or scholarships given here? Do most students get some financial aid or does the cost of this school end up costing many students 60k plus per year?

76% of students receive financial aid. Average indebtedness was $233,000 in 2017 grad class. About 60% of students who apply for institutional scholarships get it. 8% of students do HPSP or NHSC programs. Total budget for M1 to M4 hovers around $89,000 per year.

I typed this all up from our financial aid handout on interview day so should be accurate haha.

Thank you for that icedude, this was VERY helpful. I just withdrew my invitation to interview because I got accepted to my first choice in-state school. I hope this opens up an interview chance for one of you deserving souls!!!

I’m sure someone will appreciate that!

Any new recent post interview decisions for anyone?

Complete 9/21, and still awaiting news. I've had 4 II and one acceptance so far, but this school is very high on my list. Any recommendations on how to bolster my chances of getting an II?

Thanks for the advice. I am close to submitting a paper for publication. I have been waiting to submit an update until after that, but my PI is dragging her feet a little bit though. So maybe I shouldn't wait.

Did any October interviewees hear back this week?

Rejected this week. Complete early August. LM 75

I too would really like to know. I've been debating it for a few days!

dumb AF question but is it too late to throw a secondary here?

I don’t think any of us can answer that with any certainty. It’s for sure late, but as long as it’s before the secondary deadline, I think your app will get looked at. Which is more than you can say if you don’t submit the application. If you have the $$ and the time to finish the essays ASAP (and that means ASAP), I would just do it so you don’t regret it later on.

Edit: also for what it’s worth I heard back from gtown within about a week both times I applied lol (one was a rejection, one was a II).

Believe me Georgetown, (after careful consideration, I've decided...)... it's not me, it's you.

.....sorry, but the past 2 months of solid rejections has made me bitter.

When were you complete?

Rejected yesterday afternoon pre-II. LM 68. Submitted 8/21. Reapplicant; was placed on hold for review probably about 3-4 weeks ago. Good luck to the rest of you!

Did you get an email when you got on hold?

No email was sent when they reviewed my application the first time and put it on hold. I just happened to log into the portal and see the message at the top of the screen.

EDIT: I'm sorry this is the wrong thread. I thought I was posting in George Washington. My apologies. Disregard!

does anyone know when the deadline to submit a secondary here is?

Complete 8/30 and amazed my application has made it this far without a rejection. I know some of y'all have been waiting much longer than I have so I can't complain.

Y'all if you are blessed enough to get an interview at Georgetown University, brace yourselves for their interview day lunch...my jaw practically dropped to the floor when I saw the lunch selection.

Steak, everyone. They had STEAK FOR INTERVIEWEES!! And macarons. It was a buffet with a salad bar, steak, bread rolls, chicken breast, shrimp, saffron rice, macarons, bread pudding, cupcakes...I can't even name it all. That is all. Georgetown, you've won my heart with my stomach.

And another reason to be pumped for my upcoming interview

Georgetown interview certainly won the gaudiness award in my opinion...

From a current first year: We’re constantly spoiled with those catered meals, it’s not just a one time thing. Food for thought errr... stomach.

Hope you enjoyed the rest of your interview as well!

Thank you, I did enjoy the interview day! I liked all the speakers and LOVED my interviewer! My interviewer and I had such a great conversation and we went way over 45 minutes! Georgetown seems pretty selective though even post-interview -- seems like they're REALLY looking for someone passionate about coming here

Hi, this is probably a stupid question but I wanted to make sure where exactly to show up at Georgetown on interview day? I know there is the Medical School Building (the yellow pin on the map they gave us) but where is the applicant lounge.. Could someone who has already interviewed let me know? Thank you!!!

If you enter via the entrance from the Reservoir Road, you'll enter into the lobby and it'll be directly on your left. Can't miss it
