Thats so weird that no one has posted an acceptance this week then.
I saw couple new people added to their facebook group this week so they probably accepted people but those people probably don't post on SDN
Yeah I also find it really weird that no one on here would’ve been pulled off yet considering how many people reported getting waitlisted.
Maybe there are significantly fewer spots this year - reducing the odds of someone on SDN reporting being pulled.
Shoot I hope not haha
FB shows 185 and that includes 5 Admin. So if 180 of those finally going to SLU then do the math. They have 177 admitted last year as per MSAR.
Then at this point were just waiting for some of them to be pulled to go somewhere else lol. I guess we'll see some movement in a week or so.
Hopefully some of those already moved to other schools and forget to let the admin know that they are gone.. so they can be removed from FB.
Yeah that’s what someone posted last month
Can't decide whether the slu threads from previous years are a good indication of what movement will be like this year or not - so far it doesn't seem that way, unless spots are freeing up more slowly than usual. Just gonna blindly say that maybe next week will be better for us sdn folk. Have a good weekend everybody!
Thats what admissions told me
Has anyone with federal loans from undergrad done something about requesting further deferment during medical school? I contacted my loan service provider and they said that SLUSOM isn't eligible for federally backed programs, including school deferment?? I am super concerned now because there's no way I can make payments on my loans during school.
Check with SLU Financial people. Hard to believe they dont get federal Grad loans for their students and same goes with deferment. Why they will pick SLUSOM and not other private Med schools. Didn't you get something on your Financial pkg about applying for Grad Plus loans ?
I read somewhere that undergrad and grad loans are deferred even during Residency. I think you got some wrong info. Let us know with your findings..
I think it was because my loan service provider used SLUSOM's code to determine the eligibility but when we apply for financial aid, we use the main university's code. I think it's all good now
do yall think its too late to write a letter of intent for this school? I think they said the wait list rank is static, but then in the same sentence they say to send updates through the portal.
Anyone get off the waitlist yet?
Apparently there has been movment, but doesnt seem like anyone from SDN
Yeah i called today and the lady said there’s movement. Weird that absolutely no one on SDN has been accepted from the waitlist.
Maybe theyre just moving really slow....or thats just wishful thinking
It's a sign that the cycle is almost over sadly. I'm still hoping for some waitlist love from this school but who knows at this point.
Just got off the waitlist! Notified 12:01 PST, OOS, LM 70. Given 1 week to decide and $100 deposit which will “be applied toward your tuition.”
Congrats! That's exciting
Don't forget to update the waitlist tracker
Congrats! When did you interview?
also just got off the waitlist! similar stats to catsleeping, interviewed early March
Good to see its finally starting to move, still waiting here tho ;(
Did they call you or email?
I interviewed early December and was WL’d early February. I was emailed
I’m assuming more movement will occur a week from today since some who were accepted today may turn down the offer by the 1 week deadline
I interviewed in December, waitlisted, and just got accepted yesterday. Good luck to everyone else!
. You are mixing the 2 thoughts up. Yes you can apply for deferral of Undergraduate loans. SLU has nothing to do with it. You can pay the interest only, or defer the whole ball of wax. Depending on your loan you can defer and just be charged interest without principle. It has nothing to do with med school and what loans they have. Goin on is a totally acceptable reason for deferment.
Just reluctantly withdrew-- should open up a spot for one of you guys. Good luck!
Anyone know about the pre-matriculation program and if they offer financial aid or stipend for it?
Is anyone else not able to access in the form for alternate list update email they sent just now?
I wasn’t able to. I emailed them and told them.
Same here, just emailed them as well
I was sent that email before so I’m wondering if it was a mistake...
Just called the admissions office and the email was not a mistake - they want to update the list. They need to fix the permissions on the form and said we should be able to access it with the original link in ~30 mins. Edit: looks like it's working already.
The link is now alive and well! Was just able to access it
Just withdrew from the alternate list.
Just got alternate list update email as well and damn near had a heart attack.
Anyone get a confirmation email of completing the form? Did it on my phone so i was worried it might not have gone through
your good as long as you sumbited the second page, no confirm email. Did everyone get the update email tho I wonder?
Second page with the phone number? Dope
Accepted off the waitlist today!
2:45 PM CST
@accepted people. So initially i didn't get the SLU endowed scholarship and i moved on with my life, but I checked again and it was there! for those who have been accepted it may help to take another look
I didn't get it initially either but it's there now! Thanks for the heads up! So stoked right now!
Withdrawing from the waitlist. Good luck everyone!
