What do you think made you stand out? Are you an IS or OOS?
I'm OOS.

I can assure you, 100% of all schools look at “some other criteria” lolI think they are working of the application dates plus some other criteria. I am also OOS
Hmmm. Mostly because I am interested in Geriatrics and because the Rowan DO has an amazing Geri program! The DO vs MD thing does not bother me much. Especially because there is a dearth of geriatric physicians! I don't think i would have a problem pursuing geri as a DO! Also, I have met the Rowan Dean! She is an absolute sweetheart! I also have some friends who go here and are very happy with their decision!Thank you! Now you've gotten my curiosity. Why would you do early decision to a DO school with those stats? You seem like a nice person.
I'm sure you can just ask the questions here. If you have questions, probably others will have the same ones as well.Is anyone that has already been interviewed willing to answer some general questions for me ? Thanks !!
June 7Does anyone know the last day they are interviewing until?
OOS or IS?LM 63, 501 MCAT
today?LM 67, 511 MCAT OOS but in the NE received II.
today?
What date did you apply?today?
Like first or second day of opening, not looking great unfortunatelyWhat date did you apply?
Same situation here. Don't worry, you're not alone!Like first or second day of opening, not looking great unfortunately
Yes, she said they would email me, and shortly after the call they didFor those who received an II, did you get an e-mail with further information? I tried to call them but went straight to voicemail, and I haven't heard from them since e-mailing them.
Strange, I haven't received anything. Is it worth calling them again?Yes, she said they would email me, and shortly after the call they did
as someone who has followed this school's development of the new medical program over the past few years, it is really unfortunate to see the power of the dollar take over and possibly diminish the core values that the school was developed aroundInteresting article: Hasta la vista, Seton Hall School of Medicine
There is an interesting line from the article, "The school’s name will be changing to the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall, and eventually will stop bearing the Seton Hall name altogether.
To make it short: this is embarrassing for the university."
The article was written by the Setonian's Editorial Board.
No wonder they started to change their mission. Sucks for SHU tho since they have already made investments in the school.Interesting article: Hasta la vista, Seton Hall School of Medicine

A previous interviewee said that this will be implemented gradually, and is not the case for inaugural classi guess one thing that isnt clear. is the 25% shu undergrads quota for this year too?
Sounds like a real shift away from the focused Catholic and humanistic mission that was originally in the plan“We have reconfigured the financial terms so that Hackensack Meridian Health has achieved the objective of securing the destiny of the School of Medicine and launching an institution that will be innovative, dynamic and a national leader in medical education,” the health system said.
I think this statement describes the eventual mission of the school
Such promise and now so disappointing!!!as someone who has followed this school's development of the new medical program over the past few years, it is really unfortunate to see the power of the dollar take over and possibly diminish the core values that the school was developed around

where does it say 25% of FIRST class?25 percent for this first class being SHU confirmed by recent SHU email to students. They also mentioned it a bunch of times in those articles.
Yeah, it means that your rotations will still be done at HMH, along with possible residency opportunities in year 3. And that 25% of seats for medical school will be reserved for SHU undergad.“Another negotiation made between SHU and HMH, according to Pines, is the guaranteed continuation of clinical and residency placements for students.
HMH is allowing for 25 percent of the incoming class to be reserved solely to Seton Hall graduating applicants, Meehan stated.”
Is there another way to interpret this?
So gotta be today or tomorrow! From another article, it said, "Stanton also shared that applicants will be contacted this week to receive their admittance status."
Seton Hall to stop funding medical school
but for this year?It was literally confirmed via email is what I'm saying...
Yesbut for this year?
OOS or IS?
This is only for those that interviewed right? Not for everyone that’s just an applicant? So gotta be today or tomorrow!
This thread has more posts than NJMS and RWJ...COMBINED 😳
I guess a lot of people want to go hereee
Best of luck everyone!!😍

What’s more likely is people who haven’t gotten in anywhere else are applying and/or people are fishing for scholarships. Either way, good for the school!
