How is life in El Paso? I've lived in Texas my whole life but I've never been (the first time will be for the interview in a few weeks).
I know the medical school facilities are fairly new, but how are the hospitals the medical school is allied with?

so I lived in Austin most of my life and I wasnt sure what to think of el paso either.. it is a lot different than I expected.. really awesome living around all these mountains and the city has a lot of good restaurants and the people (at least in my experience so far) are quite nice like most places in Texas..

I actually like it here much more than I thought possible.. I chose the school for the curriculum and the ATACs simulation center but yeah I really have grown to like the area as well. El paso has so much more medical infrastructure than I thought it would as well so lots of opportunities for different types of shadowing and volunteer work

the Unversity Medical Center is right next to the school and it seems nice but I honestly dont have much experience there yet, I hear good things from the MS3s and 4s

Got an II here today, LizzyM ~70.

Does anyone know if they have housing with a student the night before (nevermind, I found it when I reread the email)

Sent from my SM-G955U using SDN mobile

I received an II today. My secondaries were complete 10/18. I only had December 7th and 14th available (No November or January dates for me). LizzyM ~72-73

II invite yesterday! I submitted my secondary back in July and had all letters in etc. in early August. Hopefully this gives some hope to those who have been waiting since the summer!
Congrats on your II! I was complete around the same time you were and I'm trying to stay optimistic haha 🙁
What are your stats if you don't mind sharing? Thanks!

I really need to reschedule my interview from the 7th to the 14th. Does anyone know if the 14th is still available?

love hearing perspectives from different people, and they've all been very positive! Very excited to visit here. I'm a huge Mexican food lover so I can't wait. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply, you rock!
Real quick, I'm not sure if anyone has asked this and I am sure they will address this on interview day, but is the grading system pass/fail?

When I scheduled my interview yesterday, the 14th was still listed as available.

yes, the grading system is pass/fail

I'm interviewing here December 7th, arriving on the 6th and leaving the 8th. If anyone needs a lift to the meet and greet or a ride to the airport after the interviews, shoot me a pm and I'll see if I can help you out.

Congratulations! As someone interviewing here in the next few weeks what is the probability of being able to pre-match?

Accepted!! Been through two long and stressful application cycles. It was so easy to quit after being wait listed and rejected at the end of the first cycle but I came out stronger. Worked hard and applied again! Never quit. Dreams do come true. I will become a doctor!!! :soexcited: :highfive:

Congratulations!! Those experiences will make you an even better physician. You deserve this!

Accepted this morning! First MD acceptance in two cycles! Keep at it guys 🙂

LizzyM 69-70, ORM Interviewed 10/26

Does anyone know if there's already a fb page for class of 2022? So excited to go to this great school!

Third time applicant LizzyM 69 and beginning to wonder if I'll ever get in anywhere
Hey stop that. This is just pre-match. You have a good chance of still receiving interviews at this point for schools that might not even be on your radar yet! Keep your head up, this is just the beginning of the process. I have 2 pending interviews so the probability I am going to be waiting until Feb. 1st is pretty high, but its still something. Don't lose hope!

Don't worry yo. No point in stressing. My Lizzy M = 67 and I got the first interview offered at this school (August 3, 2017). Only MD school interviewed in state since and third time applicant as well (bane of the MCAT!). No prematch either. So, you'll be fine for sure. Just keep your head up high and stay afloat. It can be tough (I mean I feel you). But that's why they have a "Match Day." 🙂

Let's just hope right now. And CONGRATULATIONS to those who got accepted. Woot woot! Like that is outstandingly phenomenal. This school was fabulous.
