Congrats everyone! I sounded like an idiot during my acceptance phone call. I think at one point I said "wait. i'm in? so what do I do now?"

Any other funny quotes?

I think I accused my EXCOM member of lying.

Her: *says I’m accepted*
Me: NO WAY YOURE LYING
Her: I’m not lying
Me: NO WAY

How long did it take you guys to get the acceptance email? I want to put that deposit down

no deposit. email took a while. To reiterate, they weren't lying so rest assured you will get it soon. Check your portal every now and then, there will be some stuff to do on there.

Yeah I’m terrified this is a dream but that’s reassuring to hear the email won’t come right away

Interviewing here on Friday. So excited! Is anyone flying in tomorrow?

Does everyone usually get called the same day? Or do they just have to call by the end of the week...?

/does the order you interviewed play a role...? I was like one of the afternoon interviews on the last day so one of the very last...

They call as their schedule allows. Usually they are quite excited to deliver the news and will call as soon as they're able. However, some of them are practicing physicians who may have to go from the adcom meeting to the hospital, get stuck in the OR, on-call, whatever. Things come up. If a couple days go by, then it may start to indicate you got put in the SUC pool. I'd guess they've only outright accepted 20ish people to the spokane cohort. the majority will come from the SUC pool.

Agree with this, but the little voice in the back of my mind is reminding me that the only interviews left in Spokane are for WA TRUST and not only the Spokane cohort

I'm from a rural Washington town and wrote extensively about practicing medicine in the area where I grew up. I'm slightly concerned as there are only ten spots for WA TRUST applicants and you mentioned in your previous post that it is rare to be denied TRUST but accepted into the general class.
That was a different person who wrote the previous post. Good luck!

I interview on a Monday and was told that I would know by Friday. But I’m not in Washington, so it’s likely a different set up for you.

Does anyone happen to know how many Washington applicants they interview for the Spokane cohort and how many they accept?

I calculated 7 interview days with 18 applicants at each = 126 total. Out of that they take 50 I think and the rest are TRUST. But I also think that some seattle applicants might be accepted there too so I really have no idea

I talked with one of the Deans during lunch about something similar to this, and they said it would take extenuating circumstances to access someone to a site they did not originally interview at. The site preference was a little more lax in determining interview location though.

I would safely assume that a cohort of 50 Spokane interviewees exists, with some spots left for TRUST and waitlist. Also, there is a western Washington TRUST cohort, but they lump all of Washington TRUST together in Spokane for interviews.

Do all the emails get sent at once...? I still haven’t heard back, does that mean SUC...? I’m so confused by this whole admission process

Spokane people: has anyone who was SUCed after the first round of interviews gotten another answer? I heard they had to tell us by tomorrow?

I ran into a couple UW M1s today at work and explained to them what post interview limbo madness is (real condition btw) and they told me to under no circumstances go on SDN. I told them that this was a loving and accepting community and they scoffed at the thought. Just so you guys know I totally defended your honor from being besmirched. :=|:-):

Same here. Honestly really confused. Thought my interview went well, have good clinical experienced and scores much higher than their averages.

Any idea what went wrong for my fellow rejected peeps?

Makes no sense to me either haha. I thought my interview went well too. I graduated 4.0, got a 521 and I'm from Spokane. Plus lots of research, volunteering and clinical hours. Thought at least I would keep being considered. No idea what they're looking for. Oh well haha

You are alarmingly perfect! But seriously, I’d kill for your stats. I’m sure you’ll have plenty of other acceptances.

I felt the same way last year. I am a reapplicant and interviewed last year with great stats, research experience, extensive volunteering with leadership, and clinical experience.
I reapplied with better essays and more clinical experience. I got two acceptances so far this year. Keep your head up. It will happen.

Yield protection and perceived lack of mission fit. They can't wrap their heads around why someone like you would want to go to school in Spokane.

What was lacking in your essays from last year that you improved upon this year. It is strange that that could be the only difference. Did you apply earlier this cycle too?

Is yield protection real?

Rejected with 3.8 and 518 and it feels like everyone I talked to Who got rejected had really high stats

If you interviewed TRUST and haven't heard, you were rejected. They fill the TRUST positions at the end of the week they interview TRUST applicants, and notify them on Friday of that week. If you didn't get the call Friday, you were not selected for the TRUST program. There is a very, very remote possibility that you're still in the running for the regular program, but it's doubtful. Like two people each year who apply TRUST don't get into TRUST but end up getting into the regular Idaho cohort. The vast majority of people who are rejected from TRUST are rejected outright.

I don't know where you are getting you're info, but you are kind of full of it. Sure, probably all of their original picks for TRUST were notified that same week, so if this student wasn't accepted they can say goodbye to TRUST. However, not getting accepted to TRUST does not mean you were probably rejected. In Idaho they purposely only fill half their seats after the first week to make sure they give the second week of interviewers a fair chance. So they likely filled their 7 TRUST spots and 13 others. If you didn't hear back, you weren't accepted, but it doesn't mean you're out. There's still around 20 spots out there and probably around 60-70 people battling for them. Chances are smaller, but suggesting that almost no one who didn't get TRUST but applied for it will get in is a bit far reaching.
