I asked all of the schools for feedback who would give it. UW said that I came off as immature in my writing. My essays didn't have any spelling or grammar mistakes, and they were written nicely. They said that I just didn't have enough life experience. They said my interview went fine and I applied at the same time as last year. Other schools thought that I didn't have enough clinical experience. So I took all of the advise and followed it. But I applied before I made most of the changes. I moved and took a job as a scribe to mature and learn more about medicine. What was lacking in your essays from last year that you improved upon this year. It is strange that that could be the only difference. Did you apply earlier this cycle too?
Mostly, I just reframed my story, and an extra year, and more interview experience put me over the edge.
