10/27 interview and still havent heard back. End my suffering please

did you notice if acceptances were mostly all on one day while deferred on another?

You can look back on what other users reported on SDN, but I received my acceptance a few days after a large rush of others had already reported acceptances (by email and by phone, too). They trickled in after the first rush during that first decision week.

I interviewed 11/27. I called today and they said the committee hasn’t gotten to mine yet (they meet Thursday) and to wait until Friday or Monday. Not sure if this is just me individually

I don’t think so. I interviewed in early October and didn’t hear anything 6 weeks later during the November decision week, while other people did get official deferral emails.

Also, during the November decision week, people who interviewed after me were getting accepted so I just assumed they had reviewed me and silently deferred me, but then I got an acceptance email the next month! So they don’t really go in order so don’t freak out if you don’t hear. I called in November bc I’m neurotic and they looked up my app and said it hadn’t been reviewed yet. So they don’t go in complete chronological order. No news is good news!

So I interviewed in Oct and didn't hear back in Nov, Dec, or this week (yet). I caved and called and they said they did review my application but they just didn't make a decision yet. I didn't asl more since i did not want to be aggressive. Its just so confusing and unclear. And congrats! I hope to join you there soon!

Per Goro and some other adcoms on here, schools don’t typically interview “for the waitlist” at any point in the cycle - that’s wasting their time and resources. You have a spot if you crush your interview, so go in there with positivity! You’re not competing against anyone else other than yourself once it gets to this point in the application process. Good luck!

This is the most encouraging thing I’ve heard in a while . Thank you so much . It is really mentally tough to interview this late in the cycle , especially if you don’t have any acceptances yet .

Don’t psych yourself out friend! They see something in you which is why they invited you to interview. For all you know, they just got to your app late!
