Congratulations to you and everyone else who received an interview! If you don't mind me asking, when did you submit your secondary application? I submitted on 8/18 and have yet to receive a "complete" email. (My casper results say delivered and AMCAS has my letters of rec... am I missing anything?)

Are you military/vet? The complete email came about a week or so after all my stuff was in.

I am not. In-state/traditional. I just went back and reviewed the original secondary email and it stated "We will notify you when your file is complete. After your completed file is reviewed by our Admissions Committee, we will be in contact with you regarding the next steps to be taken. Please send an immediate reply to this message to verify receipt to: [email protected]". Is it stating I should reply with confirmation of receipt to the secondary email or in the future if I receive further emails?

I had the same question. I had to send verification of my military status anyway so I just sent them an email. Won’t hurt to send them one.

I really appreciate the timely responses; thank you. I guess I'll shoot an email their way. Hopefully the 11 day delay in confirmation receipt doesn't affect anything...

I'm IS, non-vet., trad. Submitted secondary 8/19, complete 8/21, II 8/24.
 
So do we have to send the confirmation receipt to get the complete email? I haven't gotten a complete email and it's been 2 weeks since I submitted the secondary

It wouldn't hurt to send it. There could be other reasons it's taking so long, but sending an email letting them know you received the secondary and completed it is certainly not going to hurt you.
 
Secondary received, submitted today. Found it super weird there was not a "explain what you have done to improve your application" question, I stayed on the waitlist for the 2018 class until it closed. Think that will be more of an interview question?

The confirmation email they ask for is to make sure your secondary didn't get filtered out as spam. I would just call the admissions office and ask why its taking so long.

Committee letter uploaded 8/24 (my University is SLOW)
Completion email 8/28

Mine is 9/13. Not looking forward to the 6 hour drive there and back, but I’m excited to interview here.

Yeah... I have a small pack of Malinois and dutch shepherds, so I only applied to schools in cities I could afford a yard. My fiancé is also doing her 4th year externship at the Johnson City VA hospital (Optometry), I got a lot of eggs in this basket.

Good luck! They screen hard and you have good stats. I'm sure you'll hear something soon.
 
Got a rejection from them today. Actually kind of relieved because I was dreading writing another secondary and I appreciate schools that prescreen. That said, with their high emphasis on veteran preference, I am a little surprised they didn't at least send me a secondary considering my stats are higher than their median. But I've gotten the first rejection out of the way and it saved me a writing assignment.

Oh man that is weird. I too got a rejection from a school I thought I’d at least get a secondary from, so I feel ya. I’m sure you’ll do great elsewhere.

Thanks. Honestly, at this point, everything is pretty low stress since I've got an acceptance. Still, there was a certain dread of opening the envelope, lol.

I look way more attractive with a beard and feel more confident with one. I trimmed it very short for interview season (at one point it was too long to fit on a passport photo in true duck dynasty style) and it is kept neat and tidy. It is a full, professional looking beard. It took a long time to grow but I would sacrifice it for an acceptance, especially since this is my first MD interview. Any thoughts?

OOS DO. Texas schools can't make offers to residents prior to Nov 15th. So far I've gotten 6 TX invites, however, so I'm hoping for good news on Nov 15th 😀
 
II just now! date offered was 10/9 rescheduled for 10/8. Just FYI, I was told they do not offer interviews on Fridays.
