Sorry to hear that :l Hopefully you hear some better news from other schools <3

Also, do you mind mentioning when you were complete?
Thanks. Completed: 7/20. From NorCal, so I didn't expect much. Best of luck for those who are still waiting.

I am on the silent wait list after interviewing in September but I really want to go here. Does anyone know if it would be okay to send a LOI?

Complete mid-July and still nothing...Anyone know how far out they are for scheduling? As someone from the IE I was really banking on this school being my best shot...

If you look a couple of posts up someone asked the same question. It seems like they schedule ~ 1 month out. I would take a guess that they’re sending II’s for January rn.

Yeah, I think they're scheduling January. I received my II in November for a December date. We were the last date of 2018, and they interview until March.

Just out of curiosity, about how many days are open for interviews in each month?

Hoping to hear back soon, Interviewed in November.

From what they told us, we will only hear back if we get accepted or rejected, their waitlist is essentially the "silence".

Good luck to everyone!

Does anyone know how many people usually get accepted off of the waitlist?

Anyone know what a “Hold+” means? I contacted admissions on my app status and they let me know that my app has been screened but is “Hold+” at the moment.

Is this Pre-II? This is the first time I have heard of "Hold +" instead of a hold.

Also accepted earlier today! Interviewed early December and I was legit so surprised that I thought it was a mistake until I emailed back and got a second reply confirming. So excited!

Do people get rejected post secondary pre interview? Ive been complete for a few months and havent heard anything

Damn, I interviewed In November so I guess I’m on their “silent” wait list. I’m bummed out, I really wanted this.

Does anyone know what the post-interview acceptance rate is? And when we can expect to see movement from the waitlist?

Kind of late, but current UCR med student here (got some time on my hand since we are on break)! Feel free to reach out with questions. 🙂

Historically, they have accepted about half of the applicants who interview (which is what happened in my year)! However, rumor has it (again, heavy emphasis on it being a rumor) that last year they over-accepted. So may be they are more cautious in sending out acceptances this year. So my guess would be that post-interview acceptance rate should be around anywhere between 40-50%.

Honestly, stay positive! 🙂 (I know it's easier said than done!). If it makes you feel any better, in my class, there is a person who interviewed in October and didn't get the acceptance until March.

I interviewed in late Sept but unfortunately haven't heard back. I loved the school so much. Is UCR open to sending letters of interest and/or updates?

Personally, I think it won't hurt. The worst that could happen is ad-com putting them on "shelf" without opening them if their policy is to not consider any update letters. I do remember that one of the deans (who is also one of the chairs on ad-com) told us after our interview to NOT send in such letters since they don't look at it. However, that was a while ago and if you weren't explicitly told that after your interview, I see no reason why you shouldn't do it.

I received a secondary the second week of November and Received the "Under Review" email a week later. I see quite a people having already received an acceptance. What are the odds of receiving an interview this late in the cycle? Happy New Year 🙂

Good question. I’m thinking in May after the deadline ? But I’m just guessing.

Hm, interesting. I would imagine the opposite, sometime in march/ april so that we have a second chance to visit campuses before committing to one school.

I misunderstood your question. You’re right.

I'm under the impression that they conduct MMI style interviews. Anybody care to share if they let you take notes while reading the question or prompt?

UCR began their winter quarter by looking at my file and saying "not even close!"

LizzyM: 71.5, IS, Complete 10/16, Pre-II

Wait.. does this mean they rejected you? :l Jan 2nd and the axes are already coming out. Got rejected from MSU CHM a few minutes ago.. But going to remain positive for other schools. Sending my best wishes your way!

Yeah, but it's all good. I'll send my best wishes right back at you!

And good luck to everyone who is still in the running! Congrats to everyone who is in!

Current student here. You're right. 2nd look is held in April (usually the first week).
