2018-2019 University of California - Riverside

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Complete middle of July, still nothing. I was really banking on UCR too. This silence is killing me

Rejection post secondary. Complete 7/27. URM. Sad because this was my top choice and lived in Riverside for most of my childhood :/

I was complete 7/29. No rejection email yet. Maybe mines coming soon?

+4 completed 7/31 🙁
Goodluck to everyone still in the run 🙂
(smiley face because we need more positive vibe)

+6 seems like UCR really came out with the axe today. Good luck to everyone still in the running!

R today too. Complete mid-July

Edit: post-secondary R

Do you guys think it is too late to submit a secondary at this point? I just received the invite yesterday, but it seems to me as if it is far too late to hope for an interview invite this late in the game.

Hi guys! For those of you who mentioned receiving R's today, do you mind sharing whether you personally felt as though you truly fit in with Riverside's mission? I know they are heavily driven towards primary care and training physicians to serve the medically underserved (mostly in the IE).. So I just wanted to get some insight as to how critical these aspects are when making judgment to reject students.

Thanks in advance!

I felt I fit in well with their mission - my app was really centered around my interested in underserved primary care. That said, even though I'm a CA resident, my ties to the IE are a stretch so the R wasn't a shock

Thanks so much for sharing. I am also from CA but no ties to IE. I have two years of volunteer service for the underserved but still waiting to have my application reviewed post-II. Crossing fingers I get some good news as UCR is my top choice..

Sending positive vibes!!

When did you interview?

Does UCR accept updates post-secondary submission? The portal does not tab to do so.

II yesterday! IS, so cal but no ties to IE. Dec 1 was the only available date when I checked.
Non trad complete 8/4, LM 71

Besides one person, did anybody else receive an acceptance/waitlist/rejection post-interview?

piggy backing off of this- does anyone know if there is a significant benefit to interviewing early? I'm currently not based in CA and trying to figure out if it would be worth it to take a date in early Dec (super expensive flight) vs wait until end of Jan (way more reasonably priced flight). It seems like admissions here for regular MD are non rolling?

It looks like people who have interviewed this year have already been accepted. I also looked at last year's thread and saw students with acceptance at this time of the year. But I def understand that you're trying to save money
