Kind of a random question: can anyone guess how many calls the admissions can make per day? Just trying to calm my nerves.

To me it seems like every calls takes like 2-3 mins.

The admissions team stilll has to review apps for II, host II's, consider IIs for A/CC/R, etc. Theyre doing more than just stalling on your call lol

Haha thank you. I didn’t mean to imply that!

ACCEPTED TODAY!!! Had a voicemail requesting a call back this morning and called back during my lunch break. Super stoked!!!
Congratulations!!!! Would you mind sharing when you interviewed (just a general time like late august, early september, mid september, etc)?

Congrats to those who were accepted! Do you mind posting your stats?

hey check out my time at loyola

Most of the search results when you type in "Cites and Sounds" into YouTube. All videos were taken as a medical student at Loyola University Chicago 2012-2016

Feel free to repost and share the post above ^^^^. This is the first time I've promoted this ever, every year of studentdoctor.net

Has anyone heard about cc yet? I interviewed in late August so I was hoping to hear something soon but I wasn't sure if they were still in the process of making calls/sending the emails

Did anyone who got those weird messages previously "Hold for acc or hold for cc" get something different than they were expecting? I know @SeaHusky had hold for acc and got that thicc A.

If y’all don’t mind me asking, what’s cc?
Continued consideration-- they don't waitlist they pass you along at each meeting. Its essentially their waitlist but people are accepted off of it. Waitlist is the terminal decision cc is like the interim status.

Got it, thank you. So if you haven’t received status change (cc, etc.) it could mean that they haven’t gotten to your profile yet?

Awesome! Hard question, but do you remember if you got the “hold for ACC” on the same day as your acceptance call?
Those statuses were only up for ~48-72 hours. They disappeared some time last week.

To those that got accepted, congratulations!! I hope you will join us at Stritch, but wishing you the best regardless. For those that are waiting on continued consideration, do not get down on yourselves. Being on continued consideration this early gives you a chance of getting off of it. Many people are on continued consideration and SO many of my classmates were taken off of it. So stay hopeful and maintain communication with the school/show interest every couple of months.

To those still waiting on interviews, trust me more are coming!!! We are holding tours twice a week every week. This process is very hard (and it does not get easier in medical school), so take it easy on yourselves and make sure you are taking care of yourselves.

🙂

Thank you so very much for this!

has anyone who interviewed in mid sept heard back?

Super quick question: how do you know of you’re on the cc list? I can’t seem to be able to find anything on my status page🙁
They call for acceptances and update the status on your portal for continued consideration. I think they should update your status by the end of the week or beginning of next week. If they didn't, feel free to give them a call. They are very nice and appreciate when students are proactive 🙂

Edit: I should add that their turnaround time is typically 6 weeks from the day you interviewed but this is not always the case. So give them a call if you want.

Also put on continued consideration this morning (EDIT: interviewed mid-September)... I'm a bit bummed because both of my interviews went very well and one of them even said he hoped to see me at the school next fall.

Question about cc, is this any different than a waitlist?

For those who just found out cc - did you get an email update? I interviewed early September and still haven’t heard anything.

Yes it is completely different from a waitlist. Continued consideration means you will be possibly considered (possibly is the operative word) at every meeting. A waitlist usually means you won’t be looked at until March/April/ May.

Cc doesn’t get email usually (in the past) it just appears on portal. But happy to be wrong as I haven’t interviewed yet.

Yeah that is a bummer but u have to remmeber whatever your interviewer says — he’s only one person and a committee of hundred plus votes on you.

They said on my interview day that most get continued consideration as a way to compare early interviewees to those who interview later in the cycle. It helps if you send updates frequently to show interest in the school.

Well that's definitely good news! I submitted an update last week and will probably send another in a couple of weeks seeing as I just got a new job. I really loved this school and I hope I'm able to adequately display that!

Unusual/ tough question:

Does anyone know what the average number hours for community service is for the accepted applicants?

This data is unavailable — this school doesn’t even participate with us news and world report OR release their match list.

But it is an extremely service oriented school to its core so I have to imagine it’s pretty high — not as high as rush tho.

n=~15-18, but just among my interview group, it was pretty dang high among all of us. I never asked for specifics, but just from chatting and making small talk, it was clear all of our applications contained extensive service experiences.

Would you say ~300 hours (meaningful) is too low?
