Do all of our GA residency docs have to be submitted within 2 weeks of receiving the secondary as well? Or just the essays and stuff?
I submitted everything within 2 weeks. but according to the portal on the page with info:
  • All required lawful presence documentation is required in order to be considered for an interview.
  • GA tuition classification documentation is required to be uploaded within two weeks post-interview

Do all of our GA residency docs have to be submitted within 2 weeks of receiving the secondary as well? Or just the essays and stuff?
However, they also have a document on their website that states this:

Supporting Documentation  Applicants must provide supplemental Georgia Residency documentation and/or citizenship documentation. Instructions for this documentation are included on the MCG secondary. Please note that your file is not considered complete without this documentation and it must be submitted prior to the December 1st file deadline

It's unclear, I would call if I were you

The service to underprivileged populations is great for any medical school but to my knowledge isn't like a key component of MCG's mission. Again, it'll look great but you should also apply to all of the schools where this is a central part of their mission like Rush if that's part of your big draw as an applicant. Also, I'm assuming you applied to Mercer?
Yea I noticed that mcg didn’t really emphasize service to the disadvantaged but since it’s the backbone of almost all my ECs (and even my major), that’s really the only narrative I could go with. I’m hoping it’ll at least give me some points towards contributing to the diversity (of experience lol) of the incoming class. The other MD schools I applied to all have service oriented missions ( rush, Mercer, morehouse, etc.).

I'm uploading them all today, but I was just afraid that if there was some problem with one of my docs that it would have to be fixed within the two week period or something, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I’m a unique applicant, but no. No ties to the state.

Well good luck to you! Just FYI, only 2.6% of their class last year was from out of state, so MCG is really one of the worst places to apply from OOS. I would definitely prioritize all other secondaries if this isn’t the only one you’re sitting on.

"7. If applicable, indicate any special experiences, unusual factors or other information you have not already addressed in your application."
Um, how bad is it to not answer this question? Saying anything more just feels like fluff to me. Anyone have any suggestions as for what to put in this? I didn't have any major adversities worth noting.

I suppose if you have nothing at all else interesting to expand on then don't waste their time adding fluff. I wrote about what I think I've gained from a hobby of mine.

I just put N/A on this one because I didn't have anything else to say that I didn't already address in the other prompts/my primary app. Didn't want to run the risk of sounding tedious and having the adcom be like "OK WE GET IT" lol. But if you do have something cool to add though for sure add it!

This is a dumb question but stressing out over it rn: is the 2 week deadline until 11:59pm of that specific 14th day?

THANK YOU!!
Lol no problem! I had the same panic attack the morning of the day I needed to submit when I had to go to work and knew I could submit by 6 pm but then saw I had got the secondary at 8:45 am and was paranoid they'd be that petty lol

Nothing yet on my end. I suspect that regular decision interview invitations will be sent out within the next week or two, if they haven't already. But that's just a guess.

They have a 2 week return deadline on RD secondary applications. This does not include supporting documents such as tax forms and caspers scores, correct?

My casper account says that my results were delivered. Would that appear on the MCG secondary portal or am I to assume they've received it?

Congrats to all you guys, how exciting!!! Would you mind posting when you submitted?

Do y'all's transcripts say "missing: in the portal? Obviously I'm verified so my transcripts shouldn't be missing but just wonder if this is a little error across the board?

Is it worth applying if I'm OOS but went to undergrad in Georgia?

I would if I were you, unless you don't have the money or the time to complete the secondary! It is a kind of lengthy one. They do take less than 5% non-residents but I imagine those >5% probably have some kind of tie or somehow convince adcoms they'll practice in GA.

Thanks! So the waiting begins.... GL to all!! I was complete Aug. 5th so got a whiles to go

+1. So did y'all get emails saying your application was complete or something or you're just referring to the email that your secondary was received?

Secondary received email + all LOR in + Lawful presence and Georgia residency documentation

Okay, but you received an email from MCG verifying they had each of those? Or you're just saying that that's what you mean by complete? On SDN some use "being complete" as when they've submitted everything whereas some are referring to when the receive a "your application is complete" email.

No email from MCG after my "secondary received' email. I just assumed MCG was one of the schools that didn't send complete emails... Could anyone with an II verify if they received complete emails?

I went through 2 app cycles and I don’t think I got a complete email during either.

Gotcha, thanks for clarifying! Just had to ease my neurosis by knowing whether or not I should expect another MCG email lol.

For those of you who have scheduled interviews, were you only able to pick between two dates, both 2 weeks out from your invite? I'm a little confused looking at the portal, since it's only showing me those two dates. It would be easier for me to get time off work if I could schedule mine later in September- if I wait a week to schedule, will more dates appear, or am I limited to just those?

I have no idea, but the same thing shows up for me. There is no explicit deadline for scheduling an interview on the email they sent out, so I wonder if you could just wait. I'd be safe and email to check, though.
