They prolly went to bed after setting this automated email.

"his email is being sent as a friendly reminder to either select Plan to Enroll” or “Commit to Enroll” to our medical school in the Choose Your Medical School (CYMS) as failure to do so may result in the rescinding of your our alternate offer."

Their English seems a bit rushed or idk. This weekend is going to be no fun.

The wording almost makes it seem like it was a template email for accepted students but on accident “alternate” was typed

Downstate going to sleep after causing all of our heart rates to skyrocket to 120bpm
 
I just sent them an email explaining to them that I do not have access to CYMS yet. Also, I reminded them that I do want to remain on the waitlist.

Just for my sanity sake. I feel like it is better to let them know for sure of my interest rather than wait for them to clarify, because they will not clarify it for me lol

The wording of the last part makes it seem though that it wasn’t meant for those recently accepted from AL..but I guess I don’t have a clue what’s going on
 
Well I don’t see a CTE/PTE tab so rip to my application

Had a good run for a while there

Watch them ghost us for a week though lol
 
Realistically they’ll probably send an update email explaining all this. I imagine that their inbox will be filled with people asking about this on Monday

My only thinking is maybe checking your portal and check under the alternate decisions to double check its filled in.


Outside that I've got no clue, but I'll definitely try and look for a pattern tomorrow haha
 
I don’t even have a CYMS Tool available for do I couldnt PTE even if I wanted to (hint hint downstate accept me so i can do it ty))

I guess like this post if you DID receive an email but ARE PTEd elsewhere haha

But also give a negative react to this post if you DIDNT receive an email and ARENT PTEd elsewhere so we can cover our bases.

which makes No sense... cause you would assume that these people(me) obvi don't have access to CYMS. so they might have mistakenly sent it to us instead of those who are on the AL and have another PTE school.... but from what it seems on this thread those people didn't it...

You can’t Plan to Enroll while on the alternate list lol also, I’ve tried calling that emergency number they gave us and guess what! It goes straight to voicemail. I’ve actually been so desperate that I emailed the doc that conducted my interview and he too doesn’t know what is happening (as expected). I don’t what is happening but this is absurd also, I got in someplace so I have the choose your medical school tool and I can’t see DS hope this helps
 
More useful information: I called the admission office of another school (not DS) and they said that schools can’t force you to commit to enroll until 3 WEEKS before class starts! This is for all those accepted to schools who wish to get off DS’ waitlist (or any other waitlist)! Do plan to enroll BUT DO NOT commit to enroll until you’re (a) sure you want to go to that school Or (b) at least 3 weeks from start of school @ your accepted school. This is from AAMC guidelines! Do with this info what you will but it brought me a lil peace of mind

I too also received this email and don't have access to the CYMS Tool- I have zero acceptances and I'm on 3 WLs.

However in my downstate portal I have a prematriculation checklist that says I have to fill out even as an alternative. Does anyone else have that?

Edit: I was actually able to see the CYS tool on amcas. I hope it wasn’t some sick joke/mistake but I paid my deposit. Can’t reject me now lol ‍

Do we know what aspects we have to do for the pre-matriculation check list? The instructions are a little confusing and obfuscated.

I registered on the AHA website. When you go to find a BLS class it will take you to a page where a map is on the right and the courses are on the left.
 
Has anyone who emailed admissions on a Friday ever gotten a response over the weekend?
