@SOM Admissions is the GPA/MCAT a hard cutoff, or is it done in a holistic review process? I'm well above the MCAT but my GPA might barely miss the mark after AMCAS verifies. Just wondering if a matter of ~0.01 will matter to the admissions committee. For reference, I'm a post-bacc student, so I have a big upward trend in my last 36 units, but the overall GPA is still relatively low. Thanks.

I think you have to meet the minimum requirements to receive a secondary application and from there it's a holistic review.

Please visit our website to read more about the requirements - we are transparent as much as we can be so that you can gauge your competiveness.

The cut-off is a 498 mcat and a 3.0 according to their site, so as long as your above those numbers, I believe you'll be okay!

@SOM Admissions According to your website, it says that AP credit is accepted on a case-by-case basis. What is the criteria for having AP credit count towards one of the prerequisites? Thank you!

How long ago and for what prereq - pretty simple and quick replies. Just include as much information on the supplemental as possible so our team can return a quick response.

Am I the only one having trouble dragging the pre-requisite courses in the secondary application? It physically wont work on my laptop

I’m having trouble with the first Audio response submitting. I have reliable Wifi and my test recording went smoothly, however my first official recording is stuck at 19% saved. Does anyone have advice on what to do? I haven’t had any technology issues until this point and am worried my response won’t save. I can’t get a hold of the school because it is after business hours.

I used Firefox and it worked for me. It's a bit touchy though-took a couple of tries for it to save my physiology class, it kept replacing the biochem requirement.

Weirdly I received the primary app receipt email a second time today... Anyone else?

Just got another email saying I could possibly get a secondary app. Has this happened to anyone else? What does this mean lol?

I’ve gotten the “primary received by AMCAS” and the potential consideration for secondary email four times now over the past 2 weeks.

@SOM Admissions is there any reason for this/does it mean anything or put us further back in the review queue each time? I keep getting excited seeing the school email hoping for the secondary but keep getting that instead

The scholars are empathetic but the e-mail bot is cruel?

This is bizarre. Please contact our office so we know who you are to be able to isolate the issue.

Sooooo. Sorry for the triplicate+ messages and can I just say this is our excitement to meet you all!! Our developers are aware and will fix the issue next week when everyone returns from the holiday weekend.

Until then - have a great holiday break, be safe, be smart and enjoy the last weekend of the summer!

Secondary received and submitted today! One thing I learned is that my voice is a lot deeper recorded

Does anyone understand the point/reasoning behind the genetics prerequisite? Is TCU the only school in the country that requires this?
