Thank you for offering! Was curious about the varying communities within Hyde Park - do you know if the North East corner of Hyde Park or "East Hyde park" are good places to live?

Thank you for offering! Was curious about the varying communities within Hyde Park - do you know if the North East corner of Hyde Park or "East Hyde park" are good places to live?

Both east and west Hyde park has good places to live. East Hyde park has high rises which are more expensive as all utitlties abd ammentities are usually included. West Hyde park has walk ups which are cheaper but usually a little older and often don’t come furnished. Basically it comes down to wether you want to put in the work to find a good walk up or if you just want to know exactly what you’re getting and do a high rise.

Chicago was notorious for this and I thought they stopped this for a few years. There was a running joke that people submit secondary with a payment and received a rejection response as soon as the payment cleared.

Not an R here, but 7/27 complete and haven't gotten a response yet. So if you're assuming they're reviewing chronologically (but I'm not sure they are), as of 8/24 they're between 7/12 and 7/27 right now.

Yeah that's why I was hesitant to say they were reviewing chronologically, because I'm pretty sure people have posted ii's from later dates than others in this thread. I was just going on that assumption for the R's at least

Bruh, you are just a sour tart aren’t you. Sadness on the mich Monday thread, sadness on the UChicago thread...

I get it. Everyone else on SDN is seemingly doing pretty well. And you thought you would have heard something by now being a high stats applicant. But there is selection bias on here. Most people (even high stats) haven’t heard anything yet. Again, I get it you feel frustrated with this process. It’s an imperfect process. In fact, it’s an absolutely terrible process. The application cycle is long, very very very long. Keep your chin up. Your time will come. Statistically, you’re going to be a med student in a year. Keep calm, carry-on, focus on the goal. We got this.

Guys, based on personal experience, UChicago does NOT review chronologically. Chin up—you're still in the game if you haven't received an R! It can be a long haul (it was for me), but try to stay positive and if it gets to be too much, try to take your mind off of things—you've all done what you can do at this point.

My portal says the interview decision was emailed on 7/31/19, but I can't find this email at all even in my spam folder... No option to schedule an interview shows up in the portal either. Is it safe to assume the R?

If it said you had an interview decision AND there's no option to schedule on the portal (which you should be able to do in case of II) then I would say so. But you can (and should) always call!

Yeah, to me, it sounds like you got an II (but no email) and your chance to schedule your date expired. I’m sure they’ll understand. Keep us posted!

Portal just said the "interview decision" had been sent by email 7/31. It didn't say what the decision was. After I just emailed UChicago, they resent the decision email which was a rejection. I think I'm going to check my portals more often now............................
