Did anyone else send a thank you note to their interviewer via email and have them cc the admissions office in their response? Struck me as a lil weird but maybe they’re told to here or something..?

That's pretty standard. Most schools, if they brought up thank you letters, said that they would prefer either uploading to the portal / CC'ing to admissions. Sometimes thank you letters include update material.

Just got a pre-secondary rejection. My primary was verified before 7/1 so I was really just expecting a silent rejection, it's interesting (and pretty nice) that they decided to send an email months later.
LMAO same
And now my watch (of this thread) is ended. Its been an honor and a privilege, gents.

any idea when the admissions committee here meets?

Not sure how often they meet, but during my interview day, they said they have two big admission waves. One at the end of December and one at the end of February (or maybe it was March?). For people that interview in November, they might not get reviewed in time for the December wave.

So for the last 2 weeks or so the Vanderbilt interview invite counter on their website has been stuck at 393. Do you guys think that they have not been sending out interviews or the counter just has not been updated? I cannot take the radio silence anymore XD

I wish I knew what dates they were up to, I just want to hear anything. Last year I applied super late (mid Octoberish) and got rejected by November 21st, this year I was finished by late August and my app is yet to be looked at...

How do you know it hasn’t been looked at?

I got an interview invite a couple of weeks ago and I only saw two dates in December (same week) available.

for those who have interviewed here, what time did the interview day end for you? and how long did it take you to get from vanderbilt to the airport?

Not sure when the interview day ends, but in bad traffic it can take around 45 min to and hour to get to BNA from Vandy. Traffic in Nashville is horrible

Interview day ends between 3:00 - 3:30 PM! I would plan for about 45 minutes to get to BNA at that time. Definitely schedule a flight after 5 PM!

have people only gotten pre-2 R? Has anyone gotten a pre-II R?

+2

"If you are not accepted in December, you will be reviewed again at the end of February (or your first review might be in February, depending on the timing of your file). If you are not accepted then, you will be placed on our active waitlist"

The email makes it sound like they don't give out rejections and everyone who isn't accepted gets waitlisted, but this doesn't seem consistent with past years...

I submitted my application here secondary super duper late to this school because I had some personal things going on with my family. Do you guys think that is a death sentence here?/Should I send a document explaining and/or reiterating interest?

LM 70, so idk how I even got the secondary in the first place let alone don't believe I have a shot here anyway.

If you look at their online tracker they have around 60 more invites to send. Probably 1 or 2 more waves in December

It says that 495 have been sent out and that they usually interview approximately 500 applicants. Does this mean that they are done with sending invites or potentially that only a few more will be sent out? Not sure where you got the 60
