Out of curiosity, why does Georgetown get so many apps (14,000~) compared to other schools? The tuition is around the same as a lot of out state tuition levels but the cost of living most be astronomical since it's in DC.

Georgetown (and george washington) have well known med schools while the stats aren’t crazy too high. I’m assuming it’s mainly because the school name carries some sort of prestige, which is important to many applicants. Mission specific+ mid stats+ well known school name= low yield

Its mid-range stats draw folks from the entire spectrum. High stat applicants apply in the event a top 20 doesn't come through. And it serves as a reasonable reach for lower stat folks. And the location is dope...

Anyone get a pre-II R that was complete in early August? Or was this wave primarily early/mid July folks?

I think most pre-II R currently have just been July dates but it looks like they will get to August sometime this week or next week. I feel like they must have had an internal hold and are going back to earlier in the cycle to start making decisions about people
