2020-2021 Hofstra (Zucker)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
@MadStork Thanks! Also a bit worrying for me lol. Just submitted yesterday.
When were you complete?
I was complete in July, got VITA last week, and II just now.

That being said, they likely do not go through the APPs in purely chronological order so I would bet you still have a good chance.

they are booking for mid december and they stop interviewing in jan
I don't really think that means it's over. Because of interviews being online this year people are probably accepting all their IIs. Probably after Oct 15 when A's are released more spots will open up.

sorry if this is a dumb question, but why will acceptances on Oct 15 help open up spots?

If people get into a school they'd prefer over a school where they still have an interview, chances are that they'll reject their interviews since they've already been accepted somewhere. And then those interview spots will go to other applicants.

Does anyone know if the school prefers that we upload Thank You notes to AMP, or emailing them directly to our interviewers, or email them to the admission office?

Does anyone know if Hofstra will begin sending acceptances Oct 15th?

Has any MD-PhD applicant here had their interview day yet? Just curious what the form of the individual interviews are with selected faculty -- assuming its a combo of traditional and specifics on why I liked their research. Not stressed, just curious. Thanks for any input!

Can any current students speak to any very cool standout programs or pros of attending Hofstra that they couldn't find anywhere else? The website seems a bit bare bones but I want to learn more about the what made you choose it over other places?

Also got the VITA invite today (complete 8/12). If I already did VITA, do I have to do anything now?

Vita invite today, complete 9/26.

But I still have to wait until HireVue send me the email with the link right? And I get two weeks from the time that I get the actual link emailed to me?

I have not done a VITA yet. Were the questions asked tricky? Or were they typical interview questions such as "why medicine, describe a challenge, etc"?

When I scheduled my interview yesterday, they were up to mid January, so with all these II going out, it definitely looks like their interview season is going to be way longer than usual.

For those of you who have had/are having interviews: were you stuck in the waiting room for awhile past your designated check-in time?

Does anyone know if they actually reviewed the VITA before sending for an interview invite? Trying to gauge how bad I had done on it.

Hey so we have 2 weeks to complete the vita from when we got the HireVue link right? Got the invitation a week ago but haven't been able to do it because of other interviews this week. But I'm planning on doing it this weekend. I should be ok, right?
