The application tracker updated and it's 9,000+ now... is it normal for a med school to jump 1,000 applications in one cycle? Does this mean they'll send out less II? Just curious if anyone has any insight

Well since its all virtual and they expanded the FAP, every school will have a lot more applications because you can easily and cost-effectively interview at more schools than normal. No clue how it will impact interview invites though. I feel like schools like Michigan with high retention rates won't be impacted much, but maybe more middle-tier/lower-tier schools?

they may send out same number of IIs as years before, but that means it can be more competitive than years before as too many applicants believe they are competitive this cycle.

When do they start sending out R's? Just so I know when to stop getting my hopes up... We need Rejection Tuesdays or something to weed some of us out and give our hearts a rest haha. Would be a dream if I ever get the II though
Last year it was at the end of December for everyone, the R’s all went out at the same time at the end of their interview invite season

To those who already interviewed, what was the MMI like here? I’m not asking what they specifically asked, but what was the format? (Sorry if I’m not allowed to ask/for you to answer!)

Sorry for the noob question, but how often does UMichMedMonday happen?

Unknown officially but umich has their interview dates up online and their last interview day is feb 5 as of now. I assume early/mid December will be the last of UMich Mondays

Does anyone else refresh their email a few times after the UMichMonday tweet goes out as if they wouldn't have already sent that week's IIs before announcing them?
