Congrats to everyone who has been accepted! Just curious, any MD/MPH acceptances yet?
Anyone willing to post a screenshot of what the portal looks like when a decision like hold or acceptance is made? Is it just on the main screen?
Great job advocating for yourself! Here's to ii coming to us soon!my app has finally been officially processed! i sent an email the night before and they processed it the next day. i submitted aug 10th -> dec now. hoping we all get iis next year🙌
How can you tell the difference between submitted and processed?my app has finally been officially processed! i sent an email the night before and they processed it the next day. i submitted aug 10th -> dec now. hoping we all get iis next year🙌
People have already posted pics in this thread of what it looks like. How can you tell the difference between submitted and processed?
Yeah that’s what I thought. I submitted in August but I’m still not processed yet.submitted date is the day you submit your secondary application to OHSU, where as processed date is the date when OHSU process your application, OHSU takes several weeks to process the application , once your app. is processed then it moves to admission committee. For my case it took 6 weeks to process , for some folks it takes months. Login to your application and you should see these 2 dates .
I submitted my application on 9/12 and am OOS and it still hasn't been processed. Do you guys think it makes sense to send an email to ask them about it?

Thank you!!Someone emailed and was marked complete the very next day! I don't think it would hurt at all to email them.

If you are OOS and not a mission applicant, then they will process your apps last so it may take them a few more weeks/moths depending on where they are at. Emailing them wouldn't hurt though if it gives you peace of mind.Yeah that’s what I thought. I submitted in August but I’m still not processed yet.
take the week off from checking, enjoy the holidays and your family - this is the most annoying advice you will ever get but will remain true throughout your academic and professional career - your email can wait, I promise (I doubt they make any movement this week)Does anyone know if the OHSU committee is taking a winter break? Just don't want to obsessively check if nothing is happening lol
From my interview orientation, it seems like we should not expect much to happen over the next couple of weeks for the holidays and expect things to pick back up in January.Does anyone know if the OHSU committee is taking a winter break? thats what mine looked like prior to II. youre good.View attachment 325598
I wanted to double check and see if this means I am in the screening process for interview and I don't need to do anything else. I am an in-state applicant and haven't heard anything since I submitted. Thanks.
I wouldn't be worried. I'm guessing your interviewer is just busier and hasn't had time to meet with the committee. I have heard that sometimes people have to wait longer than the 4-8 week estimate before hearing something.radio silence since interviewing 11/3...should I be concerned? not even a hold. wondering if this means a rejection.
They do but they make it clear that it won’t affect their final decision. From the portal: “Please note that further updates will not reopen your file or change the committee's decision”Sorry if this has been asked, but does OHSU accept updates after you've interviewed and been placed on hold? I saw previous convos in this thread that they do pre-ii/decision, but I can't tell if they would post-decision, if it's a hold....
No way to know unless you tryI just found out OHSU never received my LOR from my MD, even though my app was processed in August. If they were to resolve this issue this week and start reviewing, do y’all think it’s too late to get an II, or is there hope? (mission based)
This is the answer for 99% of problems in this thread - if you don't send it, there is no hope. If you do send it, the statistical probability of hope is greater than zero.No way to know unless you try
Were you hold pool'd before you sent a letter of intent? I would love to send an update, but the portal's pretty firm about not sending anything following being put into the hold pool -- I don't want a letter of intent to score me an R. 😅FWIW I sent a post interview update that was effectively a letter of intent and heard back about my acceptance within 10 days... and that whole timespan was maybe 6 weeks from interviewing. I really really don't think it can hurt your application, unless you were to throw together something haphazardly. I would try and draw a line between being outright annoying and showing your genuine intent and interest in the program. That being said, if you are playing the field and writing letters of intent to all the programs you have applied to I would think that would be quite transparent. Also, people talk. They absolutely will accept anything you send them and respond to your email saying that they have added it to your file.
They will need to redowload your application so you should send admissions and email if you do.If i resubmit my application with a new letter of rec, will OHSU still receive it? I understand we are past the application deadline so I'm just curious if it's way too late now.
I emailed them that I was still not processed or marked complete and I got an email saying to just look at my portal for updates as they don't give individualized updates via email (which did not help answer my question). Same situation as you though. I submitted back in September as well.I submitted everything in September but still haven’t been marked complete on the portal yet. I emailed admissions to let them know but haven’t received a response. Anyone in the same boat? Do we just keep waiting until we’re complete?
I'd refer you to the reply I wrote directly above yours. I was never put on hold and sent a LOI that I felt was compelling and honest. Were you hold pool'd before you sent a letter of intent? Yeah, I think anyone that sends their FAFSA eventually gets it. I received a PIN and email a month ago. Also IS and haven’t gotten an II yet. My fiancé got one too (not applying Med). He received the PIN before even submitting his MPH app.I just received an email with my PIN and financial aid information. Is this just because I recently submitted fafsa and everyone who does gets it? I haven’t gotten an II yet but I’m IS.
Congrats!! That's amazingAccepted yesterday it seems. No email. Was on hold for about a month. Silly OHSU.... Ealy Nov. Interview.
+1, was on hold last month. Accepted yesterday via portal!!Accepted yesterday it seems. No email. Was on hold for about a month. Silly OHSU.... Ealy Nov. Interview.
My understanding at my interview was it was open file, but blinded to statsIs the traditional interview open or closed file?
It's been...a while...since you posted 😅, and I'm especially grateful for the response. OHSU's my first choice, and although I agree (sincere interest should be appreciated), I'm just a little nervous. Don't want to step on any toes by failing to obey instructions! I'll consider it, and maybe try contacting the office of admissions by phone again. 👍I'd refer you to the reply I wrote directly above yours. Honestly you guys, I would be amazed if they outright reject you for showing interest. They might toss your LOI in the electronic garbage bin or something, but being excited about a program isn't going to get you rejected. And if I recall correctly from way back when I applied - the verbiage is something along the lines of "decisions are final and further updates will not change the status of your application". Again, sending a letter (in my opinion) can only help your care with the worst case scenario being you wasted time writing it. My 2 cents. I want to see all of you succeed and wave at you all on the tram as we go to the hospital in the years to come. If you feel uncomfortable putting a letter out there and want to play it safe, that is an entirely fair way to proceed. I just would imagine they'd rather see passion. Good luck 🙂
Congrats, so happy for you!! Do you mind sharing when you interviewed?Hi all! I was accepted just yesterday, received a call from my faculty interview, saw a change on my portal, and received an email. Is there a Facebook page or any other group to connect with current students?
