My guess is that most schools will have to do more interviews then in a normal application cycle. My reasoning is that everyone is attending every interview since they don't have to attend in person and spend the money to travel. Probably fair to assume that the same applicants are getting a lot of the interview slots at most schools especially earlier in the cycle and thereby getting a lot of the acceptances. When they start deciding which school to attend there will be a lot more withdrawn applications than in a normal cycle and they will interview more to fill those open slots...
true. i never thought about it like that. i guess the withdrawals have to come at some point. they are prob just coming later this cycle than normal

They do take them seriously. That was one thing that was specifically stated and encouraged during the very first town hall so I would send one, so long as it’s strong and update-worthy (or LOI-worthy) of course. They want to see continued interest from WL applicants.
Oh okay awesome that is great to know. Do you think it would be better to send one update letter now and then in another month or so send a letter of intent? Or combine the update letter and letter of intent into one and send it now? I do have some decently substantial updates to include but I'm not sure if I want to separate it into 2 letters or not. Thanks for the help!

Sounds like the priority waitlist is like "active consideration" Which they used last year.

Also I know im late to the game, but I really really really don't think those update emails mean ANYTHING. After 2 years worth of speculation of those emails... I promise you all theres no correlation.

Also seems like she meant halfway through interview season.
Nice, do you know last year how much movement there was from people who were marked "active consideration?" Was it similar to the other person's post above where they said they wanted to move about 20-25 people off the waitlist?

Yes that would seem about correct. To me (and I literally no nothing) I imagine it isn't a great look to have no one get off your waitlist (no one did last year). So they might have changed the name of active consideration to high priority waitlist to make it seem like theyre having some waitlist movement. (I literally know nothing and I am just speculating).

Its not going to make a difference just send one

When does the agenda with all the session pop up on Thalamus? My interview is tomorrow but still shows nothing there

iirc mine popped up sometime the night before. But even if it doesn't the first thing everyone does is the 30 minute intro session so you'll get it figured out by then. Good luck!

135. They posted on their instagram today. It also said they're halfway through recruitment season.
Edit to add link:

Thanks for posting this! I do wonder how many IIs they have to send out then given they seem to be having a relatively quick turnaround for them...

has anyone been accepted off of the priority waitlist or waitlist?

How does one know if they were placed on the regular waitlist or priority waitlist? Rush says that their waitlist is unranked, so what is the priority waitlist?

very grateful for my other acceptances, but this rejection kinda hurt lol. I was interviewed last cycle and didnt get in. this cycle, my gpa, mcat, clincal hours, research, etc significantly improved and I didn't even get an interview invite. This process is weird. I understand no one is entitled to an interview, but damn I thought 7 point mcat increase and thousands of extra hours of clinical work would be enough to at least have another opportunity to interview..

For those who are accepted, do you need to pay the $100 for them to send you a financial aid package or to hold your seat?

I would refer to the emails, they explain it at length. I believe you will have to pay it to officially accept your acceptance, whether it be now or in a few months. I don’t know if the timeliness of your deposit has any bearing on holding a seat until this spring.
