2020-2021 TCU & UNTHSC

Is it worth letting admissions know I can't attend the "mixer" tomorrow because of work? Or does that not matter? Interviewing monday.

isn't it important enough to miss a half day of work?
Obviously I'd love to be able to attend it but I do work in a currently understaffed emergency department and already had to move shifts for the two other interview parts. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with having to contact the admissions department about it

You don’t have to email admissions about it. If you RSVP for it (idk if you do this year but we had to last year) then it wouldn’t hurt to send a short quick email. The mixer is just a way for you to ask current MS1’s questions about literally anything without the anxiety of having anyone from the admissions committee there.

I’m one of the student ambassadors who are at some of these mixers so feel free to DM me if you have any questions!

thank you so much. This greatly reduced my anxiety about this haha.

This may be a dumb question but - do the admission folks and school folks prefer you call them TCU and UNTHC School of Medicine or is Forth Worth School of Medicine okay to say in an interview scenario?

I just said TCU and have heard current students say TCU, and I guess it didn't hurt my chances of being accepted.

I don’t think the school would be super picky for what term applicants use. I can tell you that they want us students to use TCU & UNTHSC school of medicine so it might be a good idea to use that during your interviews. I will admit though when talking to other students we usually just say TCU. TCOM is also in Fort Worth so I’ve never heard it called fort worth school of medicine. Hope that helps!

Just cancelled future II & withdrew app- accepted to state school and I just can’t afford to take off two days for the interviews. Hope one of y’all grabs my spot 🙂

Just got a call for an interview spot! Politely declined for similar reason! They’re calling people! Stay close to ur phones 🙂

Anyone receive an II after being complete at the end of August?
