Stats of people getting II ? 😕
You can check the II tracker for self-reported data. The two interviewees reported so far are not crazy high stats, so I wouldn't worry too much about being left out of the first-day-wave based on stats and/or completion date. Med school admissions are just weird/unique/cloaked in mystery. Every school seems to have their own methods. I received interview invites to two of my "reach" schools on the first day either school sent them out, but I haven't heard a peep out of my alma mater (and my undergrad institution has been sending out II's for over 2 weeks now). I don't think stats and early completion date are the only forces at play, and I don't think it's important/indicative of much to get an II on Day One. To those that did, congrats that's awesome! But, I wouldn't read too much into it, at this point. If it's Thanksgiving trending towards Winter Holidays, and still radio silence, maybe then it's time to worry a bit. idk

We need to have an II before actually scheduling the physical, right? Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Still no II for me but it's still early

This is what I got last year:
IMPORTANT PHYSICAL INFORMATION:
Applicants who accept an interview invitation will need to schedule a medical examination with the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board (DoDMERB). [deleted portion] You must contact the Commissioning Coordinator within one week of the date of this invitation. Commissioning Coordinator hours are 8:00 - 3:30 eastern standard time Monday through Friday, no weekend or holidays.

The security stuff goes through around that time as well.

I have a LizzyM of 70.

I also completed late prob early August

So I know in general when I spoke with students last year the advice was don't ovver think the interview.

But my question is for students currently at USUHS, what would be some questions you have for incoming candidates, and what are some qualities you'd like to see from people who will be attending USUHS.

I’m not an interviewer, but we do a ton of stuff in teams here, and the military is very big on teamwork and being able to work in a group with both people you know well and people you barely talk to. I don’t know exactly how I’d ask, but I would want to know that they can follow as well as lead, because both are important. Maturity is another big thing. We don’t need drama here.

Then some sort of evidence that this person is service oriented. You can tell who joined for the wrong reasons.

Would you be able to provide any examples of an instance where someone performed well on these tasks and an instance where someone definitely did not do well?

Are there any questions you think a good candidate should ask?

Thanks! This would definitely be helpful for prepping for discussion.

I’m not an interviewer, so not really. For me (and I think this is common, but I’m not sure), it is not so much what they say specifically, but that they have examples to back it up. If someone tells me they want to serve but have very little non-clinical volunteering or zero experience with the military population, I might question it. Either they really aren’t in it for service or they think they are but don’t actually have the experience to know.

On the other hand, someone who has been volunteering in the community or is prior service or did peace corps or whatever, they have some evidence to back it up.

Doesn’t mean you have to be Nobel peace prize material by any means lol.

But again, I’m not an interviewer. This is just my own opinion and a little based on what Col Saguil and CAPT Liotta have said to me.

As far as what questions to ask, it’s hard to say but generally try not to ask stuff you can look up easily. Also keep in mind that a lot of the interviewers are going to be volunteers who may work at Walter Reed and might not know a ton about the curriculum or specific things at the school. I think I asked a question to my first interviewer and he didn’t know, so I said okay cool and that was that lol.

Has anyone been contacted by an interviewer yet? Just to be clear we attend both events on September 10th and we are standing by for our interviewer to email us?

Anyone with an II know how to schedule the physical and upload the SF 86 to the DoD safe?

You’ll schedule the physical in dodmets. They will assign you a doctor, and you’ll call them and schedule it yourself then put the date into dodmets.

I already had a clearance so can’t help you with that.

To clarify- I can't seem to make an account on DoDMETS to schedule the physical.

Yeah so I contacted my counselor and said "hey, FYI I can't log into DoDMERB yet because it'll take seven business days, is it fine if I interview before being able to schedule?" and they said to just schedule it immediately afterward. My interview is next week so I was really concerned. I'm working with one of the security people to upload my stuff to DoD Safe since it appears we need a Request Code...

Edit: Also worried that since I won't have a physical examination date before my interview, I won't be able to submit that form with my Service rankings in time either since we need to indicate our date of examination on that same form. DoA?

I just spoke with someone who is looking into getting a request code, they realize applicants don't have a way to upload forms yet.

However, I also am unclear about whether or not we should upload the interview form without a physical date?

I'm wondering the same.

Yes I was wondering if I should upload or wait until I was notified with a date

I’m going to call my counselor and ask today

I have a history of HTN (almost always above 140/90) because I was pretty big when I was younger and my admissions counselor has sent my app to a medical review. I've slimmed down in the past year and have managed to reduce it to around 130/85 or below (measured at home and at the CVS/Walgreen's machines). Does this raise concerns and should I get a physical to document my lowered blood pressure?

Do you have an interview date yet? I am scared to submit my interview docs page without a physical date or interview date yet..

Okay, I'm just going to wait until my interviewer contacts me. If we haven't heard about the Request Code + DoDMERB by then I'll just submit what I have and update my counselor, and if we have, then I'll just submit ASAP. I don't know what else can really be done. I notified security personnel that I couldn't upload my documents and they said they would work on it.

That is what I am doing. I have everything ready to go so that when I get my physical date, I can submit the interview form, and when I get the request code, I will submit the security form. I will contact my counselor on Tuesday if I haven't received either of those things yet.
The good news is that we are all in the same boat!

Awesome! Post any new info if you get anything? I'm going to do the same.

Have you reached out to your counselor otherwise? I confirmed my interview but will probably wait to submit interview form. Also, has anyone emailed the sponsor questionnaire yet?

Has anyone that's currently active duty and still waiting to get a Letter of Approval to Apply/Letter of Release gotten an II yet?

I emailed the sponsor questionnaire the first day I received my II

I reached out to confirm my interview, and this morning I had asked if I could turn in the forms without the interview date and was told I could just put 09/07/2020 since that is the week it will be. I am still waiting on my physical date and the request code before I submit though.

I think I’ll do the same! I guess we are all in the same boat waiting on physical/code for sf86?
