This is a great point however that is not how it works. Having interviewed here two times in two different cycles I assure you that everyone prior to the release date will be included as this is what they say every single year! 🙂 feel free to continue to disagree but I promise you I am not just making assumptions like you are 🙂

I'm not sure that this is the case, Talldoctor. I interviewed at VCU twice as well (and am now a current student here), and the admission committee members oftentimes mentioned that they do not necessarily get to everyone's app before the decision day if they interviewed too close to the cut-off. It really depends on if they are caught up and meeting on time (sometimes they experience delays for unforeseen reasons).

Would you mind sharing your stats and if you were OOS/IS when you applied to VCU? Also, how many volunteering hours did you have? Do you think VCU cares about connections to the school (i.e., if a sibling or cousin attended)? I couldn't fit connections into my secondary but am considering including them in an update letter.

They did not. They said you aren’t allowed to write or take notes during the interview.

I didn't have any questions where the interviewer served as an actor, but they do have situational where you need to explain/demonstrate what you'd do in certain situations

It means you have reached the terminal phase of your review. Your file has a score and if it reaches the threshold set for an interview you will get one. I would argue it’s a good place to be.

Does being stuck on this status for an extended period of time mean that I didn't meet the threshold for an interview?

Sorry if this has already been asked, but for people who didn't get an II, did you get an email saying so? I would think so but my portal just says review complete, if you are granted an interview you'll get an update...but I can't imagine just being left in the dark if you get the R?

I was a little worried by the wording because at interview day, they referred to it as committee approval, so when I saw "placed on hold for possible acceptance at a later date" I thought it was a soft rejection. I now understand that placed on hold after your interview is a good thing right? That's what they meant when they said committee approval?

It’s holistic. Depends if ur IS or OOS. Have u applied already?

I'm OOS and I have. They sent me a pre-secondary reject, but I was curious if they would make an exception and accept an appeal. My MCAT is 1 point under their cutoff, but I felt like my app holistically is stronger...
