Honestly, I’ve been complete here since early august and haven’t been rejected/nor ii. So I’m not sure

Congrats on the II! Would you mind sharing if your portal said "Your File Review is now complete. If you are granted an interview, you will receive a status update on your applicant portal" prior to the interview invitation? It seems like in past years they had a variety of messages. I'm trying to gauge if there is still hope haha

Mine had said that my file review was complete since like August prior to receiving an II at the end of December.

I sent a pre-II update in late August to VCU SOM Admissions and got a reply saying it was added to my file.
I did also send another update in December and didn't get a reply this time.

FWIW I think they really do not like updates. Even post-interview they told us to not send updates unless they were very very significant (e.g. 3+ months of a new full time job)

Interviews are for sure still being sent out! But, I'd imagine that the rate of IIs being extended will decrease as the interview spots are likely full. With that being said, keep up hope!

FWIW I think they really do not like updates. Even post-interview they told us to not send updates unless they were very very significant (e.g. 3+ months of a new full time job)

I'm +6 months in at a new lab job, should I send them an update? I thought I read here that they really don't care about anything you do after you submit your application

Usually goes through feb with a handful in March, depends on the year

I am as well. I don't think they have open interview slots besides individuals dropping their invitations.

Just to clarify: receiving your file review is the terminal stage of the file review process. It doesn’t mean they just looked at it for the first time. Someone most likely screened it and put it in a non priority pile- and was only completely scored now.

It doesn't mean anything. It was the holidays. they probably had a backlog of people to vote on, im sure they'll get to you at the next meeting.

Yeah that's normal for sure. You'll be voted on at an upcoming meeting. As long as they vote on you before the February date (which they will), then you chilling.

Not always. Some people do some people don't. Everyone gets emails for II

I just looked back in my email and I was stuck on Review Complete since 11/12, so about two months. Still some possible movement for sure! 🙂

I received mine 48 hrs in advance. While the interview day itself is really well run (at least it was for me), my only complaint was the last minute Zoom link and interview day materials data dump.

I feel you. Im in the same boat, lucky to have had one interview but im expecting a WL at this point. I havent heard from like 24 schools still it's so frustrating. Time to start re-studying for the MCAT I guess ugh.

Everyone that receives that message after their application has been review by the admissions committee post-interview has "passed" (i.e., not been outright rejected) the interview. They are placed for "hold" for acceptance during one of the remaining acceptance dates. After the final acceptance date, a portion of the remaining candidates are placed on the WL.

Talldoctor is right in that this has been asked and answered many times throughout this year's thread already - let's not pile on them for not wanting to explain it again.
