When they say you will give an introduction about yourself, is this like just a few seconds or like a long answer to a question?

My thoughts exactly. I’m wondering about this, too, because everywhere I read, there’s always the “Tell me about yourself” crucial part of an interview.

Can anyone tell me if there are any interviews left and when? I'm out of state and thinking of applying, even though I know its late. I have a GPA right around their average but an MCAT below. Don't know if its worth it since so little get accepted out of state. However, I do consider myself to have a unique story and come from a very diverse background with some family ties in CA

No, it's just a few seconds! I think they told us to say where we are from and a fun fact. It's very brief.

Hi. I’m a little bit confused. It’s a one-on-one 20 minute interview, but how did you know of the other 11 interviewees? Do you get to see each other as a group?
Yes, we all were in a group together taking a "virtual tour." Then we were separated and went to one on one interviews 🙂

II early afternoon today.

Stats: 3.3-3.4 GPA/MCAT 508.

Complete 9/11

Just to confirm: this school has no federal loan options?
current OMS1 here! As of now, it doesn't seem we have qualified for federal loans for the upcoming school year. However, we keep hearing that we should qualify by 2022-2023. A few students have seen CHSU federal school code appear on FAFSA this year, however, they were unsure if it is for the pharmacy school or medical school. So please contact our financial aid office for further info regarding federal loans.

With that being said, my classmates and I have had absolutely no problem getting personal loans through the options the school offers. And most of us got amazing interest rates compared to personal loans I have heard of elsewhere. I hope this helps, and good luck everyone!

Thank you for this info! Would you mind speaking to your experiences at CHSU?

What kind of rates?

Hello all! Current CHSU-COM first year med student here. Just sending you all my warm wishes and hoping for some great news! Last year, around this time, my anxiety was at an all time high when I ended up on the waitlist so I get it. It’s still early! I got off the WL late June. So far, I love it here and I hope to see you guys next year 🙂
Any tips on housing?

Sure!

I really like the faculty here and it's very evident that they want us to be successful. We use TBL style (team-based learning) and I personally really like it. I find that it helps me stay on top of the content. CHSU does not offer pass/fail for main classes. You will get a grade, but the grading system does not seem to be a problem for most students, as we are all very successful. Additionally, I don't feel like the environment is competitive at all, we all just want each other to succeed. Classmates will even make anki decks and share them with the whole class, which is something I did not expect in medical school. I think the curriculum is taught well and we have a really good group of doctors teaching us here!

The cost of living is really reasonable compared to other schools I was deciding between, so that was a big deciding factor for me. The current students compiled a list of different apartment complexes near campus with pros and cons to help incoming students decide where to live. The campus is beautiful, it is all brand new so it's modern and really nice! If you ever get the chance to visit the campus, I definitely recommend it!

Also as a new school, they do try to take our suggestions into consideration and make changes where they are needed!

The school offers a few different personal loans that you can apply for, and you can choose the one that offers you the best interest rate. Also, there are scholarships that financial aid will provide applications for. Many students (including myself) received these scholarships, which was really helpful!

Hope this helps!

Congrats! After you got the A and the email, how long do you have to decide/finalize and sign the acceptance?

How long on average were/are peoples answers to the 4 interview questions? I’m averaging about 3 mins per question and was wondering if that’s too long?

I feel that should be good especially if the interview is 20 mins, and you have 8 mins to ask them questions and for them to follow up on your answer.

Let me know if you want to practice together, mine is coming up on Valentine’s Day 🙂

Hi. How can I get a copy of the compilation of apartments complexes with pros and cons?

with scholarships, how much does that decrease your tuition? seems like an expensive DO school.

Hi. How can I get a copy of the compilation of apartments complexes with pros and cons?
If you are an accepted student they should be posting it on the accepted students facebook page, or you can contact Zea and she can provide it!

Were these scholarships from the school itself or outside sources?

These scholarships are from outside sources, CHSU just provides the information and application deadlines. The amount of money you receive from a scholarship will depend on the scholarship you receive!

Current OMS-1 here, glad to answer any questions y'all have 🙂
Hi! I have a few questions! What are the research opportunities like on campus? Do many students search off campus and is there a research advisor or anyone that helps students find opportunities externally?

I just got in, but I don't think there's much at all. There is always UCSF Fresno though for research in my view.

Just curious, those of you who are withdrawing, what school do you think you will go to instead? what's the reason?
