Look at C2, I think as long as you can provide proof everyone should be eligible for Ohio residency after one year. Ohio Residency for Tuition PurposesJust read this on the UCincinnati MSTP handbook,
i. The program will cover the cost of all out-of-state tuition and fees only during the first year of participation in the program.
ii. Non-Ohio Residents (or residents of counties eligible for metropolitan rates) are required to become Ohio residents following the first year in the program.
iii. If a student does not become an Ohio resident the student will be responsible for the differences in fees.
Does anyone know if students are typically given residency after first year in ohio?
After you click "SAVE and CONTINUE" you will have access to the secondary to fill out.I am confused. I don't see any essays. I only see a form where it makes me read stuff about LOR and the different programs then press "save and continue" after reading the statement " I certify that I, the applicant, have personally composed, compiled, and entered myself all of the information contained in this secondary application. By checking this box I certify that I have not enlisted anyone else, paid or unpaid, to compose or complete information on my behalf."
"If you would like to complete the University of Cincinnati secondary application, please click "SAVE and CONTINUE" below."
But I didn't see any essays? Anyone else??
Does anyone else dislike the usage of the word "talent" in these secondaries? It indicates that it is something inherent, something we were born with. Doesn't sit right with me. I dont have "talents." My personality and abilities weren't inherent or an accident.
(Optional) Please explain, if applicable, any ways in which the COVID-19 pandemic specifically and negatively impacted and/or caused significant hardship for your academic performance between the months of March 2020 and September, 2021. (2000 Characters)
Can I talk about how my volunteering/shadowing were cancelled?
I didn't see anyAre there any specific questions/prompts for reapplicants?
No IIs from what I’ve seen/heard yet!Has anyone heard about IIs being sent out? Awfully quiet.
First interview date is mid September. They will be going out very soon.Still no II's?
Exactly same!! Best of luck to you potential future classmateII today!! IS, complete 7/22. UC is my top choice and this is my first II Scheduled for 2 weeks from today, but might have to reschedule if no one can cover my shift at work lol.
There’s a possibility you’ll get a mix of situational and personal questions, I would prepare for bothAlso, I am unsure if any of you M1’s are able to disclose, but for the MMI at UC we’re you asked any personal questions (why medicine, tell me about yourself etc..) or were they all situational judgement?
historically both. also usually an acting station or two. they make it pretty low stress as far as an interview goesAlso, I am unsure if any of you M1’s are able to disclose, but for the MMI at UC we’re you asked any personal questions (why medicine, tell me about yourself etc..) or were they all situational judgement?
Current M1 here. I'm planning on applying for in-state tuition the summer before M2 year.Just read this on the UCincinnati MSTP handbook,

To add to this: if you live in northern Kentucky (which is like a 15 minute commute in the morning in Newport/Covington) then you can start receiving in-state tuition during the first year. All that's required is you pay the KMR (Kentucky metropolitan rate) which is an additional 300 dollars per semester, which over the course of all four years is $3000. Overall it is cheaper than living in Ohio with OOS for one year. The biggest con is that you'll have to live in KY all four years to keep that price, but imo NKY is better living than Cincinnati proper anyways.Current M1 here. I'm planning on applying for in-state tuition the summer before M2 year.
It's definitely possible and likely you would receive in-state status for tuition purposes but you do have to apply after M1 and it's kinda a pain.
For more information reach out to John Stiles at UC. Just google him. He's super knowledgable about the whole process. Just be aware that if you are accepted here and decide to attend there are some things that would be beneficial to do before matriculating, like signing your lease one year in advance before you apply for in-state tuition, etc. Just random small stuff you've gotta do to make sure you get approved.
quartiles are back, rationale for this is heavily due to step 1 being P/FIs grading still P/F with quartiles or have quartiles been removed? I saw on last year's thread that quartiles were removed due to COVID, but wasn't sure if that decision was permanent.
to add: M1 grades are 10% class rank, M2 is 20%, M3 is 70% if I remember correctly. Preclinical is not hugely crucial to class rank. Biochem only just started but I haven’t detected any sort of competitiveness in our classquartiles are back, rationale for this is heavily due to step 1 being P/F
You can't. Believe me, I've tried, and I think at this point ignorance is bliss. Not sure if this has been asked before, but is there any way to view your secondary after its been submitted?
Dang, The mstp secondary asked us to list faculty and I wanted to list the same ones in their pre interview survey they sent for us.You can't. Believe me, I've tried, and I think at this point ignorance is bliss.
I was assigned an interview date and time. You have the option to reschedule though if that specific day/time does not work. How far out are the interview dates?
My interview is early October, they just gave me the dateAre the interview dates they are scheduling still in September? Or October?
Congrats! Stats?II received, ORM, IS, went here for undergrad, and super strong tries. Complete 8/11

We were not allowed to take notes last yearDoes anyone know if you can write notes to organize your thoughts during the 2 minutes you have to look at the MMI prompt? That really helps me not to ramble as much lol!
