Yes, this is correct. I was also told this during an earlier interview at Creighton.I don't know if I heard him correctly but I think I heard him say "the vast majority of you will be placed on the alternate list". Did I hear this correctly lol
One of the deans at a school I interviewed at explained that most schools are somewhat conservative with offering acceptances early in the cycle because they need to protect their yield and ensure as many of those acceptances as possible turn into matriculated students next year.
Edit: heard this from a Dean at a different school, but he said it applied to many schools.
