2021-2022 Drexel

Completely agree. They sent an email saying that a PTE decision is required by the 30th to hold your seat at Drexel. Hopefully that means they’ll be sending that stuff out at least a few days prior to that😬
And remember, 4/30 falls on a Saturday this year. They are probably cut and pasting from prior years, because, this year, they will not be able to see what you did until 5/2.

To play it safe, I wouldn't wait until 11:59 p.m. on 5/2, but they will absolutely not be able to see whether or not you are PTE until 12:01 a.m. on that date, at the earliest! 🙂

Hi! I was wondering if anyone out of state (not from PA) completed the fingerprinting pre-matriculation requirement? If so let me know I have a couple questions about the process 🙂 Also, is there a Groupme for accepted students?

I was one of the last interview days in April and Brian said it would still be 6 weeks (around 5/16) to hear back, but do you think we may hear back next week since there should be lots of movement? or nah

I am just speculating here, but my guess would be no. Most of February and the entirety of March have not reported decisions yet. Hopefully, the interviews are ending the decision process will speed up, but next week seems like too short of a time frame.

I think the decision release trend is that each week there are decisions released for a few dates (it seems like its in order). Based off that trend i don't think we will get to April anytime soon. April decisions are probably gonna be mid-May

This school, in particular, does not have a history of under promising and over delivering, so I'd go with what you are being told rather than speculating on something better.

I still haven’t heard a decision and I interviewed 1/27… any other January interviewees still not heard anything? I don’t get why they seem to have skipped weeks past me…
Did you try contacting them? I interviewed 1/26 and heard back right on the 8 week mark

I straight up laughed out loud when I read that Brian said it will only be 6 weeks. I'm sorry man, big cap from them 😅

There is a GroupMe for the Reading campus. Not sure about the Philly campus

Just curious, do they reject after interviews as well? Or does everyone just get placed on the waitlist if not offered an acceptance?

yes they do reject. i think a couple of people earlier in the thread reported getting rejected.

How do you get your financial aid package? Is the only thing you have to fill out FAFSA or are there other forms to fill out

The only thing you have to do is file your FAFSA WITH your parent information included. Nothing else must be done

another day of no acceptances. * sigh *
Yeah I’m surprised that they’ve gone over a week since anything. I interviewed literally the next interview day following 2/9 and just keep telling myself that surely it’ll come any day now…

So you're saying that you would indeed do M1 in East Falls as close to Queens Lane as possible and plan on moving? The thing influencing the decision the most is whether M1s will be actually using QL campus and not hybrid/or optional virtual. The move doesn't bug me quite as much.

Are most of you accepted students planning on living as close to QL as possible? (If you got that campus in the lottery)
that's what I'm planning on doing! I'm planning on living close to QL and then move right before 2nd year

Are you from PA and have you visited QL area? Leaning toward Center City, living very close to the shuttle. Mostly because I think that the QL area seems really quiet and not very vibrant for getting food from Trader Joe's, quick errands, and the library is only open 8am-5pm (not sure will even study there, but a factor nonetheless). The library in New College across from the shuttle stop is open 24 hours, even though not designated the Med School library. Does anyone have any info to the contrary?

Wondering if any M1s would chime in and let us know if they think it's a mistake to live in either place. I know that the plan is for the University City campus to open for Class of 2026's M2 year. Yet another local area to consider ....

I'm not from PA but I've visited QL twice now! I do agree that it's a bit quiet and there aren't many options for groceries, etc. but for me I'd rather be as close to campus as possible. I also love the East Falls area and don't mind living there 🙂 Personally, as well, I've moved apartments so many times that I'm fine moving again to University City campus after M1.

Has anyone called the school to figure out when mid-Feb folks will hear back? Going on 11 weeks post-interview and just crickets...

This school is pissing me off. Was told in mid February that I’d have a decision at the end of March. I understand you have a ton of applicants, but don’t tell students something if you can’t follow through. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth
Same- I almost laughed out loud in my interview when they said 6 weeks because I had been following this thread. I don’t understand how they haven’t caught up at all.

I'm just a lurker but wanted to pass on this: Hours - Drexel University Libraries , seems like the QL library is open 24/7 per their update as of 4/7/2022!

I'm very glad that I found this page- Drexel was my only interview, and its been 11 weeks since I interviewed still with no decision. The waiting has been so stressful because I am trying to plan for reapplication, as well as for the next year if I am not going to medical school yet. I also have to commit to potential masters programs by May 1, and still don't have an answer from Drexel. I just feel frustrated because I wish they were honest with us about the timeline, because I have to plan the next year of my life out.

Thanks everyone for being supportive on here- it has really helped me out to read some of your posts 🙂

In your case, given your masters deadline, I would email and call drexel tomorrow and have it sorted out. What do you guys think?

Are they going to withdraw if they don't hear by 5/1 (Sunday)? If so, then yes, let Drexel know, and then withdraw on Sunday if Drexel doesn't respond.

If not, what's the point? Because it's been 11 weeks and they want an answer? I'm pretty sure Drexel is aware.

You can always commit to the master's program and withdraw if you get accepted to Drexel. You'll lose the deposit fees but at least you'll have a backup in case things don't work out. Honestly, as a current reapp, so much money has gone down the drain. I just try to look forward and think about the potential money I can make lol

ALSO i would highly consider only doing an SMP or master's if your GPA was low. If you do have to apply again you want to make sure you spend the next gap year correcting the weakness of your app
