Has anyone else who interviewed the week of 12/13 not heard back?

Does anyone know how long the interview day is? I don't have a lot of time off from work, so I was wondering if I would be able to take just a half-day off. My interview is at 8:15, would the interviews go past 12pm?

Your interview times are given morning-of. I think it's technically possible to have both of your interviews in the morning block, but it's more likely you have an afternoon-block interview that starts after 12pm central time, and could possibly end as late as 3pm. No way to know ahead of time, but if it's a big deal it could be worth reaching out to see if they can work with your schedule.

Got the call, interviewed the week prior. My first A and one of my top choices so very thrilled. Best of luck to everyone still waiting to hear!!!

Looking for honesty--I interviewed last year late March and was waitlisted and eventually denied. Part of me thinks it was due to my late interview and them just not having much room at that point in the cycle...I still haven't heard from UTHSC regarding any interviews. At what point in this cycle should I start worrying about the same outcome?

Does anyone know what the consensus on post-II updates are?
Pretty sure it’s usually either a phone call the week following the interview or a waitlist/R a few weeks after

Edit; sorry thought you meant updates from admissions office, but rereading sounds like you mean update letters and such

Yes, I meant update letters and letters of continued interest!! Sorry about the confusion

Given that decisions seem to be made about a week from your interview date, there's a very limited time to send an update, particularly since you likely talked about any big updates between submitting your app and interviewing. IIRC Tennessee is receptive to post-II updates but it would make more sense to send if you're on the waitlist rather right after an interview. Just my $0.02

Kind of unrelated but I just noticed that I keep getting interviewed and waitlisted/deferred or rejected post II at flagship state schools (UTHSC, UF, Minnesota, Michigan, Nebraska). Does anybody know how difficult it is for OOS students to get accepted at UTHSC?

Did you end up ever hearing from UTHSC?

I have always heard and assumed that flagship state schools cater heavily to in-state residents over OOS. For the most part have to be a home run candidate to have a shot. Again just what I've heard and assumed and not quite sure on UTHSC since my MSAR expired.

This is because state schools get more (government) money per instate student.

Received II yesterday -- very relieved!

Can confirm that it seems like they schedule a week or two in advance so I wouldn’t panic if you haven’t got it yet

Do interviews run through the end of March? If so, should we be looking out for II throughout March as well? And do they send most rejections at the end of the cycle in April?

I believe interviews go into mid, maybe late, April

Stats if you don’t mind sharing? Congrats!!!
Thank you! This is my third year applying. Rejected first time and waitlisted second time. I took the MCAT 3 times increasing my score from 497 to 510. My undergraduate GPA was 3.57. I have been working in research and healthcare these past 2 years and I am currently on my last semester of a MPH program with a GPA of 3.97. Hope this helps!

Wow!! You are tough as nails. Good luck in medical school!

hello! anyone that interviewed from Jan 31-Feb 4 time-period hear back yet? I think they sent an email that the ice storm could cause delays? thanks 🙂

Sorry if this was already answered, but is it ok to send an update letter/call with an update if I haven't received an interview. I had a few accomplishments come from my job that I would like to add but saw on their website that they said if you have received an interview then to update.

Seeking some guidance here... I haven't received II but haven't been rejected either. With respect to UTHSC, is it safe to say I should move on? I'm in-state.

Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but is there a way to send a Pre-II update? If so, is it a good thing do or does it just look desperate? Any advice is helpful

I don’t have much guidance because I’m in the same place, but I have heard the UTHSC typically does interviews until April. So I’d say be realistic in that it is late in the cycle, but don’t give up yet. I am taking this time to prepare for another application cycle if I need to apply again next year.

But as I said I’m in a similar position and I hope this give you some answers.

Yeah I am a little irritated with Tennessee State schools. I have already been accepted into an OOS Med school but haven't gotten one interview from UTHSC or ETSU this cycle (I'm from East Tennessee). I interviewed at UTHSC two years ago with a 502 and have had nothing since. Do not know why my state is harsher than OOS schools.

I interviewed on Feb 2, and I still haven't heard anything. Hopefully they will let us know something soon.
