I heard they assign a reviewer to each MCAT score. Not sure if true.or the order in which reviewers are assigned
I saw the same thing in previous years threads - I'm wondering if the only reason I haven't been rejected yet is because my reviewer is behind LOL. I was complete 7/15

is the optional student q&a actually optional? I am debating calling off work next Friday but I wanted to see if anyone had info on this

What does it mean if we were complete super early (early July) and have not heard anything here yet?

either they haven't finished the review of your application yet, you're in the pile to get an R, or you're in the pile to get an II. No way to tell which is which ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also got a R today around 3 PM PDT.

IS, URM, 522, 3.81

I thought fit was good but they clearly did not, haha.

Best of luck to everyone!
Somewhat surprised that you received a R given your stats, which I think are solid. Can I ask you what your clinical exp and research exp was? Good luck with your other applications.

It means they can really see you being a part of the next class and are likely to offer you a seat. I'm in the same boat, app was complete in early July and haven't heard back. I've been sharing this news with friends and family and they're all really excited about it.

This has got to be one of the best responses I have ever seen to these types of questions!!! On behalf of all anxious applicants everywhere, thanks for validating our most optimistic view of our situation!!! 😎

No problem, just trying to share the neverending joy and excitement we are all experiencing while on this magical journey to the white coat

Thank you! Good luck to you as well!

I had ample research experience, four years during college I worked on medically-relevant chemistry research. Then I worked for three years at a leading research hospital focusing on clinical research on Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. I have authored papers and presented at about 8 conferences.

In terms of clinical experience, my clinical research position definitely translated to meeting patients, but unfortunately the pandemic postponed our two clinical trials and therefore about half of my three year commitment was purely data analysis and manuscript writing. I still got maybe about 800 hours of direct patient experience (I spent about 12 hours each week solely working with patients)? I unfortunately had very limited shadowing, I only shadowed a primary care physician during my first year of college for about 40 hours. I had agreed to shadow a neurosurgeon weekly starting in May 2020, but of course that got cancelled as well. I honestly was hoping I would be a later rejection at least, but oh well
Overall still quite impressive. I’m guessing it’s your clinical. But given your stats and exp, I would guess you will overall get some good interview invites from several of your other school apps. Hang in there. Your stats are quite good.

they have plenty of clinical experience. Ultimately, they yield-protected him/her or thought he/she wasn't a great "fit"

II Received 10 minutes ago on 10/4, AMCAS verified very early on, I've mentally blocked the dates out 🙂

3.6+ GPA, 518 MCAT, thousands of clinical hours but weak / minimal volunteering (maybe 100 total across 2 organizations), ORM, In-state with strong ties to Los Angeles

Earliest date available was first week of November

Anyone who was interviewed…on the status tab, does it show that the interview is complete? Thank you.

Can anyone who has interviewed already tell me what people wear to the Friday Q&A sessions? Do people wear formal interview clothes?

All the current med students were wearing casual clothes, while there were a mix of casual clothes and formal clothes between the interviewees. I wore a casual collared shirt to play it safe, but the current students explicitly said that they were not part of any official admissions stuff so I wouldn't worry too much about it!

7/15 IS 3.77/515 and no news yet. Is this basically an R or do I still got a shot?
Judging from the application tracker last cycle, it doesn't seem like Keck always sends out IIs in the order they received your secondary. Last year, some of the first people to report submitting secondaries didn't get IIs until October or November.

Do they call or email or just change the status on your portal? Also, what time are the decisions released on October 15th, is it a specific time like MCAT results?
